went rushing out of the house through the doggie door about an hour and a half ago...i went out to see what it was about and he was whining/yipping around the trunk of a japanese maple, all agitated...i looked around but didn't see anything then looked up to see if he had treed a racoon, which happens now and then...saw something up at the top of the tree, 20 feet or so up, but couldn't make it out in the dark...dragged bodhi back into the house and closed his door, then got a flashlight to see what was in the tree...staring down at me from his lofty perch was a fox, spreadeagled in the small branches, apparently not sure how he got up there but aware that, yes, this was where he had ended up...just checked on him again and, while he has got into a more secure position, is still up there , trying i guess to figure out how the hell to get down...lol...wonder if he'll still be there in the morning...

oh, kewl...love the foxes (thanks for taking Bodhi back
in).
We have a pair just behind our property somewhere on the
wildland behind. I only see "glimpses" of them at night,
but I know they do venture down around our houses in the
dark.
They will climb up in trees looking for nests and other
goodies.
My guess, he'll get back down.

i was a bit concerned that he might have been injured because it was apparent he and bodhi had a bit of a tussle before he headed to the sky...bodhi had a small cut on his ear from their interaction...
