The reason?
The government is basically saying they own
that child and they get to do what they think
is best for the child. The "they" are
government officials in office, elected or
selected, because of an ever changing moral
code*. It doesn't matter if that new moral
code is right or wrong... it's just this new,
elected/selected, government's designated
moral code.
Following from Fox News is about what has
happened because of the state of Michigan's
new moral code:

* The moral code of the elected/selected Nazi
regime in the 1930s (not that long ago!) was
that Jews should be eliminated. The property
theft, the hair shaving, the torture, the
gassing, the skin for leather, the medical
experiments (hmmm, experimental COVID vaccines
sound familiar?), the mass graves or the
crematoriums were all okay because of the new
moral code.
Today's new moral code can be traced back to
the World Health Organization of the UN, an
organization that is highly, if not fully,
controlled by the likes of the World Economic
Forum, an organization founded by Klaus
Schwab, the son of wealthy Nazis!

USA with the selection of certain University
Presidents, with our elections and vote
counting machines, with infiltration in our
Local/State/Federal government/Deep State,
with the nation sapping illegal immigration,
with the wealth sapping drugging of our street
living citizens, with our involvement in
unnecessary wars, with the new woke culture,
with BLM and ANTIFA, with the subversion of
our schools' curriculum and kids' minds, etc?
