there is research that indicates that massive
fluctuations in nearby electromagnetic fields outside
the earth can fidget the atomic widget to make the decay
rates appear constant throughout time when they are not

this is consistent with the theory of punctuated
equilibrium where the fields perturb the decay rate of
all atoms within the body of the field and cause massive
destruction within the envelope
