...movement had something to do with the Apple Fire.

I was just on his site and I saw someone talk about a
lightening tracker site.

I then entered a question on the net "does lightening
have any connection to earthquakes".

I found that the movement of plates can cause
lightening at the spot of movement because of
underground friction.

Is it possible that several lightening "strikes"
happened at that area, sparking the dry needles and
underbrush on the ground?

I heard the reason for the fires was arson, but now I'm
wondering if that is just a cover story to hide the
truth? That area is right on the San Andreas Fault.

it has been shown they are caused by the volcanic eruption, not vice versa...

true...the violence of eruption creates massive charges
in the particles as they accelerate past the speed of
sound.

The electrical charges build until discharging.

so..yes, it's the eruption that causes the lightning. It
can be a spectacular site (from a very safe distance).
Terrifying if too close.

good short (and stunning) video and explanation at link.

Around the time that the fires
started, witnesses had called
911 to report seeing a man
walking along Apple Tree Lane
and starting fires around 5 p.m.
on Friday, NBC Los Angeles
reported. A third possible arson
fire was also reported in the
same area, and that one burned
from 60 to 80 acres.

That old fraud doesn't know a fault from his asshole.

He once said a volcano was erupting in the desert....
there were some on teh board he lived near the spot
and there was no eruption lol... it was a cloud!

He also was spewing all kinds of crap about the
Hawaiian eruption of Kiluaea...and was wrong. I
actually was on a chat with him while he did it...and
called him out on it.

the guy's a fraud and earns money by the clicks of the
gullible.

His stuff doesn't belong on a "science" board...only
wowows if at all.

I sincerely doubt it.

Arson (not always intentional/meaning "man made" ) is
the cause of 80% of the fires out here.

Chances are, if the inspectors said it's arson/man-
made, it is.

As far as I know there was no lightning in that area
when it started.

Arson can be intentional (a pyromaniac/fire bug) or
unintentional: PGE equipment malfunction/a lawn mower/
car with flat tire throwing sparks from the
rim/overheated brakes..or on off-roading vehicle--or a
campfire left out of control, tossed burning cigarette
or match or hazerdous materials not properly disposed
of and igniting (like paint rags), or a bbq or even a
house fire or vehicle fire kicking it off.

Occasionally you get a bird or squirrel in a power
line, lightning is the 2nd cause of wild fires and
does happen (the one near lassen was caused by
lightning storms), spontaneous combustion of compost
under right conditions, arcing wires in high winds.

My last business (proprietor) was residential wildfire
hazard reduction here in California...we would go to
homes and make recommendations about how to reduce
their danger of fire, and clear dead wood, combustable
material, trim out tree ladders and clear vegetation
from around their homes. We took classes with our
local fire department and cal fire to get certified
for that.

So, I do have some creds here.

I also studied geophysics in college and understand
about faults and earthquakes...and enough to know
Dutch doesn't know what he's talking about.

"A wildfire in mountains east of Los Angeles that has
forced thousands of people from their homes was sparked
by a malfunctioning diesel vehicle, fire officials said
Monday. The vehicle spewed burning carbon from its
exhaust system, igniting several fires Friday on Oak
Glen Road in Cherry Valley. .."

The arson inspectors are top notch tracking down fires
to an ignition point, and exactly what it was that
caused it. They are rarely wrong (and I can't even think
of one time ). It's amazing what they do.

Here's a wildfire, also probably man made (along a
road way near Caliente) that we're watching. it's
about 15 mi to my north.

We also had another smaller fire just to our west in
an area where we've had 3 other fires break out in dry
grass in the last two weeks. This makes #4...this is
the hallmark of a firebug who's going to keep trying
in that area until he gets the catastrophe he's
looking for. I'm sure they are looking for him.
Luckily, they got it out fairly quick..was in dry
grass which moves fast, but low-heat fire.

here in california, the rains stop around April/may
and don't start again until about October.

By July-Oct is the most dangerous time as things are
dried up and the temps are high, humidity low. That's
when you start seeing monster fires like what's going
on further south-the Cherry fire. With climate change,
they are getting bigger--and more deadly and
destructive. It peaks Sept-October when the Santa Ana
winds kick up from the east off the desert, sometimes
blowing 80-100 mph over the worst, dried out areas. It
can take a fire that would normally be put out quickly
into a monster that can outrun cars trying to escape.
