We were talking around the table this morning about a
teacher that my older children had in high school. His
name was Mr. Boomer...and he was extraordinary!

Our oldest 3 children when to this high school, and
one of our sons was in his science and physics club,
"the Natural Philosopher's Club".

All members of the club had access to "Boomeria", Mr.
Boomer's property up above town. This was no small
treat. It's an actual Nerdvana...Forts with water
cannons, a chapel with a large pipe organ,
laboratories, dungeons, a castle and....the
catacombs!!!

I was reminiscing about Mr. Boomer to one of our
younger, adult kids who did not get to go to that high
school as we moved from the area in 2003 when he was
only 5 yrs old.

He looked at me like, "you're pulling my leg...right?"
and forced me to go to google as I was sure someone
must have put some photos up of "Boomeria" and Mr.
Boomer somewhere!

I hit pay dirt and was able to back up my story lol.

My son, who was in his Natural Philosopher's club, is
a scientist himself. He programs dna lab equipment,
and among other things, was invited to participate
with NASA to come up with ideas to detect life on
Europa in an upcoming probe. He remembers Mr. Boomer
fondly and with a great big smile.

go to the link, as there's just too much to share
here, to see why Our little science teacher in Santa
Cruz county would have done Hogwarts proud.

This is priceless... looks like from the 70's, a
"Battle Video" apparently made by the BBC interviewing
Mr. Boomer and showing Boomeria in action! That would
be Mr. Boomer and that year's Natural Philosopher's
club students.

I really did not realize how well known Boomeria
was...Here, we thought he was just our small town
crazy science teacher.

Reading through the website, I also had no idea that
Disney had approached mr. Boomer to do a movie about
his teaching life and "Boomeria".
