Hi pamela,
Interesting video. It is amazing how fast the US progressed and how far backward we have gone. The last US manned launch was the space shuttle July 8, 2011. The new Orion launched by the SLS system will launch no earlier than 2023.
It is a shame NASA didn't build on the technology of the Saturn V, but the space shuttle killed all other rocket research and the space shuttle never lived up to its expectations of monthly launches. The Saturn V with it's F1 engines was an incredible piece of machinery and a modernized next step from it would have been the better way to go.
