I bought a cheap yellowish rubber snake at a yard sale. It wasn't really the most realistic. However, it is made of some material that is so cheap that in different weather conditions, the "snake" body contorts.
This is a fabulous material for scaring birds away from my deck. They have not hung around long enough to leave their droppings, something that means a lot to me. And besides the droppings could harbor diseases, some as bad as bird flu.

That bird flu is a problem?
I was under the impression you lived in the U.S. but we don't have bird flu contagious to humans here.
That said, bird crap in any great amount stinks, and that's reason enough to be rid of it. I also have a coworker who picked up a fungus from it hat was at first mistaken for lung cancer.
So, excellent idea.

I live in the Midwest.
No matter where you live, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that an enemy could introduce bird flu into our country as a form of viral warfare.
