From one particular teacher. There are myriad ways of
doing what she is showing us on the video, but basically
what *appears* to be the goal here, is not anything as
foolish as (gasp!) ,getting the correct answer. That's
the old school way.

Today, its about ENDLESS fucking drills, of skip
counting, and making base 10 er metric as familiar as an
old pair of slippers, and they are starting in kinder. I
get that homework every night. I stopped helping with the
3rd grade homework (mission accomplished school system!),
because beyond the endless fucking skip counting, its
paragraph style questions requiring paragraph style
answers, and the teachers are all gaga over it because
the bright students "get" it, whatever "it" is, but as
far as practical, everyday, survival/human existence
skill sets, functionally fucking useless.

No matter, my 7th grader is in the advanced math common
crap, and excelling far beyond anything I touched in high
school, which boggles my mind, but the indoctrination of
the kinders on up with these endless drills will take
years to unfuck. Not impressed at all, but my kids got
smart genes, they'll make it no matter what.

The kids no so gifted? Left in the dust big time. That's
why they push the smart ones even higher, to artificially
elevate the averages in order to hide the weak links.
