Excellent experiments.

I have gotten Aluminum blocks of about 1 to 2 ounces in
weight to levitate in magnetic fields. really cool ,
I'll have to You Tube that someday.

Dropping a magnet through a copper pipe is interesting,
it falls slower than you would expect like the Video
with the Aluminum Heat sink you showed.

One guy was telling me he magnetized wood but I never
saw it done.

My friend picked up a $20,000 magnetic generator for
$50 at an auction, one guy was telling us that it was
very dangerous to play with and needed an out building
for safety.
People have been killed in magnetic accidents with
MRI equipment.
If you have a defunct hard drive you can harvest the
Neobium magnets from them, very powerful magnets.

You can use certain magnets on fuel lines to get fuel
to burn more efficiently, a single pole magnet if I
recollect. Can be used in cars and oil burning heaters.
The Hutchison magnetic experiments are super
interesting, see you tube.

I have an old magnet maker from the 30s, an electro
magnet device for magnetizing metal, not super
powerful, I 'll have to experiment with it someday.
