and "science" has no answer for how life came about

LOL...they guy was talking about killing a cell and then
wondering why it didn't come back to life although all
the "ingredients" were there.

It's like putting in a bowl a bag of flour, eggs and
baking powder and no matter how long you wait...it will
not turn into a cake.

or perhaps a better analogy:

Looking at a dead fish and putting it back in the
aquarium with all the perfect "ingredients" and hoping
that it will turn into a live fish. What does any of
that have to do with atheists lol

what he's demonstrating is the "current model" of how life came about ... at least the "current model" from the perspective of establishment science ... it's the Urey-Miller experiment ... this "primordial soup" and a lightning bolt ideas has been around since Darwin ... but no matter how hard they try ... they can't make it work ... do your homework before you come to class

The transition between complex, carbon-based molecules
and primitive, self-sustaining bacteria is separated by
a massive time margin of around 500 million years.

The nature of carbon based molecules is that they are
capable of becoming more complex throughout time, given
the chemical reactions needed for this gradual change.

The transition between simple monomers to polymers to
replicating polymers to probionts and eventually
bacteria, is a very subtle and gradual change.

A few amino acids in the primordial ocean could not
yield life.

It isn't as simple as that, and anyone willing to grasp
the theory of abiogenesis would understand that very
basic concept.

it is more complex than that... but okay; counterpoint:

to paraphrase your statement - "religion" has no answer to how *God* came about.

Maybe someone who always existed just was and is.
The great I Am

Could be God is not subject to laws of beginnings and endings like we see in the material world.

Numbers and time are infinite, why not God.

Religions have some knowledge, but no religion has complete knowledge.
The old Catechism doesn't say he came about ore how he came about. Says he always was and always will be.
Bhagavad Gita says the same and beyond that all living beings always were and always will be.

Who are you trying to convince of your
"theory"?

A belief in God, is nothing more than faith in
a theory.

You will never resolve the debate without
proving the theory that "God" exists.

science is a "belief system" that most so-called scientists take ... like most dogma ... on trust ... only those involved in physics have any appreciation for the mystery of existence ... take quantum entanglement for instance ... can anyone explain how it happens ... no ... but the experiments started by Alain Aspect and others since have proved that it's real ... which is why people like you (and me) are foolish to have opinions about things you (and I) can't begin to understand ... but at least I know enough to know that I don't know much about our CREATOR
