Why is that a shortcoming?

because it never addresses the whole of reality...I know how I was born...but the more important question is why...

Well maybe expecting science or any external source to explain everything there is to know about reality is unrealistic to begin with. Why expect anything or anyone outside of our own consciousness to tell us more about something we already have instantaneous access to and might be creating, moment to moment ourselves? I guess that's assuming it all starts with consciousness & that's my own bias at the moment, but it seems to be shared with a few wayward scientists, ie, Robert Lanza (biocentric universe theory)
