that ritual is so fascinating to me and something I'd like to explore.... being a dreamer I've already explored other amazing realities straight up ( is that the right wording ?) and I cannot even imagine what I would encounter under ayahuasca.... I read the book DMT the spirit molecule by Rick Strassman and the fascinating thing was that everyone within that study who took the DMT encountered the very same entities.... there are so many levels of being.... |

this is so cool, -several years ago I was travelling in southern ca with a friend, -we ended up at a small mountain place called julian, -it was the time for the annual apple harvest festival they have.... I wandered off and found a book store, -it sold mostly old books, for some reason my interest was drawn to the castaneda books, I bought them all.... I had never read his books before.....it was totally karmic I happened to be at that store at that time... life is like that, -things happen for a reason.... |

Ack... over an hour long. But further, it's about using psychoactive drugs to alter the mind. Sorry, I just don't "get it" in regard to artificially altering ones brain chemistry to "have fun" (or other goal). If that's what it takes for someone to get through the day, then either their life is really shitty, or they need serious psychiatric help - most likely the latter. I like the way my brain functions as it is. I don't want some chemical changing who I am, because, then, I am no longer who I am. Brian |

Changing who we are might be a good thing, in the sense of growing and becoming better wiser people. But fucking with my braincells doesn't seem like a 'wise' way to accomplish that task. It may not be a perfect analogy, but I see it much like steroids in sports. Sure, you're stronger, can throw ball farther, can break the league record... but you cheated. And there are side effects. And consequences. And what you accomplished, were they TRUE accomplishments? Like far out man... I'm so one with the universe... | there is a downside for sure, just as there can be a life changing upside...drugs can be extremely damaging to the physical and more etheric bodies...they can be used however to "jump grooves"...imo, they are not "meant to be used recreationaly...I certainly don't see that ingesting natural plants such as mushrooms or peyote as cheating in any definition of that word...that's where the drool comes in... |

no...although the hurdles presented make it extremely difficult to achieve through other means...rather than drugs, I'd call them psychotropic plants...and the clarity and vision that can be quickly obtained from them can move one forward on their path very quickly, even though the effects aretransitory...drugs are what you get from a pharmacist, the plants are a gift of nature... let me ask this , if you are in an accident and have a bone sticking out somewhere will you take morphine? |
