Say what you will. @RFKJr_Official is not wrong. This is a national emergency
and we should set aside our partisan opinions and agree this is an American
crisis. Do we really want our kids on this shit for their entire lives? To be
poisoned by the industrial food industry? Don’t we love our kids more than we
hate the other party? It’s time folks. Let’s make some progress.

Wide Awake Media@wideawake_media
RFK Jr: "Today, over 100 members of Congress support a bill to fund Ozempic
with Medicare... Most of these members have taken money from the
manufacturer of that product, a European company called Novo Nordisk."

"There is a push to recommend Ozempic for Americans as young as six over a
condition—obesity—that is completely preventable, and barely even existed
100 years ago."

"Since 74% of Americans are obese, the cost of all of them—if they take their
Ozempic prescriptions—will be $3 trillion a year."

"This is a drug that has made Novo Nordisk the biggest company in Europe. It's
a Danish company, but the Danish government does not recommend it. It
recommends a change in diet to treat obesity, and exercise."

"For half the price of Ozempic, we could purchase... organic food for every
American—three meals a day—and a gym membership for every obese
American."

"For 19 years, solving the childhood chronic disease crisis has been the central
goal of my life. And for 19 years, I have prayed to God every morning to put me
in a position to end this calamity."

"I believe we have the opportunity... to transform American health... and, I
believe, to save our spirits and our country."

With the price of food increasing almost weekly (i.e.,
a dozen eggs around here start at about $6.00/dozen and
if you want 'organic' eggs - those are going for
$12/dozen), for many in our country it is getting to be
more and more challenging to eat healthier, especially
for kids who can eat an entire week's groceries in 2
days! And 'healthier' is also becoming more difficult -
buying organic foods cost so much more than non-
organic.

For example, It is far less expensive to buy 10 boxes
of Kraft Mac N' Cheese for $6.99 than it is to try to
do it from scratch with wholesome food. Fruit and
veggies are not inexpensive, especially if you are
trying to buy organic or pesticide free...usually those
items are running about $1-3.00 more per pound than the
mass market stuff. It all adds up. Cheaper to buy a
package of 10 hot dogs at $6.99 for the entire package
than get a pound of ground beef.

Give the kids a bag of oreos for after school treat -
will last longer and fill them up faster than if each
ate 1 apple.

I know that for us - a couple - we have had to cut back
- refried beans and black beans in tortillas with some
salsa is now a dinner; a fried egg sandwich is another
dinner....back to basics and reducing grocery costs.

And then add in the epidemic of kids AND adults sitting
around on their behinds scrolling through social media
and/or playing video games instead of doing activities
that require physical exersion. Kids grew up with
instant gratification and now they expect it to be that
way with their weight loss - do less work by taking a
drug and lose weight faster than taking the route of
losing 2 lbs a week on a limited caloric diet and
exercising every day. That lifestyle went out the
window about a 2 decades ago.

Not that this is all ok, but it is the reality of
things.
