I learned this (the hard way) from the many California fires I'd been through. When you're out and about and it's smokey, wear your cloth mask (NOT those dang surgical masks, which are all made in China!). And in the evenings, when the wind settles down, there is often an inversion layer in the atmosphere which forces all the smoke down to the ground. When this occurred, the smoke was so thick I could only see 100 feet distance. I once had to make an emergency run for Rx during such an event, and neglected to take my mask. I coughed constantly for the next 6 weeks.

Because we used to own a wildfire hazard reduction
service (mowing and weedwhacking residents and
businesses yards in the area), we already had several
boxes of masks left over in the store room. They were
the N95 masks.

The reason we use those while clearing was the dust,
which in the Central valley and desert areas...can
contain fungus spores for Valley fever. Plus, it's
gross to sneeze out dirt-brown dust from your nose for
a day or two after a job.

And yes...we have also used them for smoke if there's a
wildfire nearby.

They are handy for many things ...cleaning out the shed
(dusty, possible rodent droppings in there...the mice
love the old shed), cleaning or home projects (like
sanding something down), yardwork..and yes, when a
plume of smoke settles over your location.

Don't throw away any extra masks.

And, if given a choice, will always choose American
made.

I thought to use the link I shared to order Made in U.S.A. N95 masks but my cc was declined which I verified it was on
my account. It may be that the link addy is no longer selling the masks but was during times of high demand during the
pandemic... that is what I figure is most likely.

So I went to amazon and found some made in U.S.A. N95 masks which are cheaper anyway now during non high demand pandemic
time and got more a package of 25 made in U.S.A by searching around that also had a high sales rate and star rating than
ones that just appeared with first inquiry on amazon (best way I can explain it...hope it makes sense)...

I do feel masks help but not made in China...washable cloth would be better than made in China. I have cloth on hand
but thinking I need some more non made in China N95 masks home supply though I go out rarely I feel even to the mailbox
for me as lots of weird toxins in the air in Florida from all sorts of reasons major one being overpopulation as well as
the toxic green micro-algae (red tide gone out of control) in Florida....I wish Ron DieSantis would stop inviting more
people to Florida it's made everything more toxic. He may thrive on toxic but I don't nor do many others approve of him
here, many who may believe in the political pulpit podium conservative (I don't believe in either, or, in-between,
myself)....I do think that many making comment on a certain board may want to consider ceasing blame games and even
blanket covering everyone on a political pulpit podium as everyone does not think strictly in black and white (while
most do in this world on that I agree to me it is part of a program many are not shielding thier minds from).
