Records continued to be broken in May in both hemispheres, and many countries suffered from heavy floods due to tons of melting snow. Some snowy events to highlight: - Michigan - 26 inches of record snow. - West Virginia - 20 inches of record snow. - Sierra Nevada, California - 15 inches in 48 hours. (State snowpack over 300% of average) - Teller County, Colorado - Heavy unseasonable snow. - Spain - Unseasonable snow after an early heatwave. - Iwate Prefecture, Japan - Record snow for May. - New South Wales and Australian Capital Territory - Record coldest May temperatures. Just watched a video that came out about five months ago with Professor David Dilley explaining CO2 compared to thousands of years ago from ice core samples, but also from fossilized leaves. But basically he is saying we have begun the 230 year cooling cycle. We just can't seem to warm up here in the Eastern Sierra. It started last November 1st. We were down to 32 degrees two nights ago with colder temperatures higher up. I was just talking to a young couple from Florida who were all bundled up like it was winter in Tahoe. I told them that this isn't normal, we should be in the upper 70s when it was blowing hard in the 40s. Still quite a bit of snow in the mountains. May not be able to plant petunias anymore, or even a garden unless I build a greenhouse. Normally our last freeze is around June 1st. |

It's been the coolest spring/beginning summer here in the mountains of western NC since I moved here in 2014. I think today was only the 2nd day of the year that broke 80 degrees. Lots of weirdly cold days in recent weeks. |

when I see Grand Forks ND at 100 degrees and I'm at 73 in mid-TN last week. that's craazy. |

Fairly soon we will get the June SOTT Earth changes summary. JUst so cool and rainy here still on the 27th of June. Has not even warmed up to 70 yet. |

We only have a few months of opportunity for it to warm up and we're going to be right back into the colder weather again. Professor Dilley said it will be a couple of more years before the Atlantic cools down, and once that happens the United States will be in for some cold wild weather. The North Pacific has already cool down. The charts show that very large volcanoes go off right after these 230 cycles begin which could be very dangerous in our ability to feed 8 billion people. |
