where I am in FL...it's heavy, thick...different...It's been consistently hot and no signs of autumn here but for the sun is more southward and so some plants, trees, and grass are showing change that way....Otherwise it feels like something is more wrong than usual. The oddest thing is I notice this week in the evenings the lack of mosquito's which in this heat would normal be here...The air though heavy is not full of moisture as in humid. Then there is the even more noticeable to me lack of insects of any sort...a few moths around the light outside and some tiny ants is all I notice also fewer and fewer lizards and birds and frogs....snakes too, used to be many here but not anymore or alligators.
For a number of months, up to say a couple of weeks ago something happened that was rare I would open the front door and several times lizards were as if waiting for it and would run inside the house. It was the oddest thing ever as they usually don't try to get inside or wait for the door to open to do so. I had to put so many out or try to catch them to do so I thought what in the world? ....One evening I went to see my neighbor and when the door was opened a lizard darted inside like waiting at the door...I tried to help catch it but they fast...sadly often one finds them after they perished. I said to neighbor you been noticing a lot of lizards coming inside and got an affirmative. I left the neighbors and as I open my door same night a fairly large lizard seemingly waiting for me to open the door ran inside. it was bizarre. The past week or so seems they stopped but that maybe because they are fewer in numbers to do so there is one medium size one on the front porch now when the light is on at night it comes around to eat the few tiny moths that are drawn to the light.
Just thought to report what I am noticing the numbers of wild creatures just keep dwindling and the air is the stalest air ever and feels grungy to me. However the pollution and pollen count graphs is not overly high and I wonder how can that be ...maybe the expectations are lower because it definitely feels heavily polluted but I am more sensitive to it than most who don't seem to notice much at all or be concerned yet I am. Maybe there is a difference in awareness there also along with other factors....I keep using the neti pot daily and colloidal silver nasal spray have to more so than ever.

On a completely different note....you live in Florida.....you lucky ducky. I am in the North East and it is alredy so cold here, all of a sudden. I love Florida. I envy you so much. Wish I was there right now. Love the constant smell of the Ocean and the Ocean breeze - heaven on earth Eve.

I love looking for seashells and for the sea life like when there are long lines of dolphins going by and even sting rays, pelicans...well I used to but since I live on the GOM side it's not so pristine anymore for me but others love it, especially visitors.
Kin folk back in south western part of Virginia said it was so hot Thursday it broke records...87 degrees if I recall correct, next day dropped 20 degrees. Not abnormal to drop that much but the heat was unique. It's really polluted where I am at...for me anyways being sensitive, too many people used to not be so many but so many came from the North East thinking to abide in paradise....I miss the part of paradise I recall as it was cleaner and not so much traffic or road expansion ....sigh, they replaced the orange groves nearby with strip malls...miss the orange blossom fragrance...but to the ones move here recently they don't have that memory :0)~
Now I am thinking of the lyrics by the Eagles ..."call some place paradise kiss it goodbye" from the song The Last Resort.
The heat when the air is stale gets old after awhile but I can also relate to living in the cold climate even the midwest...it's colder ...I used to say if I ever miss Missouri I can stick my head in the freezer and get over it quick.
I hear the little cardinal couple outside at the feeder, think I will go admire them, warms my heart. May you stay warm and in comfort and have a pleasant weekend Sunshine.
