Just musing. Lately with the radical weather patterns setting in bringing unusual amounts of moisture in the form of not only snow but rainfall, or on the other hand, drought--and on yet another hand wild temperature patterns, this will surely be affecting the planting/growing/harvesting of food crops. Might we be heading for a period of food scarcity?

Thanks Teresa for posting your sources - The NASA one caught my eye
This part of the cause of so many migrants heading northwards...
"The map above shows NDVI anomalies in Central America and the Caribbean. A severe drought spread across southern Mexico to Panama. In July, affected areas in Guatemala, El Salvador, and Honduras experienced maize and bean losses from 75 to 100 percent. The Crop Monitor has largely classified maize conditions in Guatemala and Honduras as “failure” while yields in Haiti and El Salvador have mainly been classified as “poor.”
“NDVI is an important tool for monitoring crop conditions for food security,” said Justice. “Any changes in precipitation and temperature will have an effect on vegetative greenness.”:

yes, I been warning people for years that this was coming and when i am in grocery stores I just think about all of them all over the country and the world and know that one day there will be lots of empty shelves. I have even tried to put in gentle suggestions to those whose children are having babies, but no one listens...thanks for the links..

No, Nasirah I don't watch or recommend those - or haven't you noticed? Probably not since you are basically a troll here trying to get in good with the regulars.
