Just like the oft quoted "95% of scientists agree"
nonsense.

Now they are hyping up some kind of gold standard.
Uh huh.

Hi La Man,

it appears the recent snow in West Hollywood has not yet convinced
you of any global 5-sigma climate agreement? So the climate
change apostles will have to keep nudging you until you believe
their aggressive religion.

If you asked the "95% agreeing scientists" on what they agree they
would very likely give you wildly conflicting answers. The situation is
similar to the situation around the speed of light which was "fixed"
to a definite value after so and so many scientists and other self-
appointed wise types determined that "c" was a natural constant,
despite strong arguments questioning the constancy of c.

Despite the fact that Dayton Miller, a supposedly very diligent
scientific worker, found strong experimental evidence for ether drift
which is equivalent to saying that c is not a constant, Einsteins
assertion of a constant c, required for his equations to not fall
apart, still rules the world of physics, and those x% of agreeing
"scientists" do not even dare to test Einsteins's far-reaching claim.

Here some material if you are interested in reading about it:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dayton_Miller
http://www.orgonelab.org/miller.htm
"The effect [of ether-drift] has persisted throughout. After
considering all the possible sources of error, there always remained
a positive effect." — Dayton Miller (1928, p.399)

There are just too many interests in the real world who want to
protect the "c" status quo so that the general public can be kept in
a state of mental darkness so that people accept s... for gold.
