Had a feeling about the heavy rains lately... so NOT normal! Not good, not good at all!

This one rocked our world down there. I was re-hanging some 8' fluorescent light fixtures, that broke their chains, in a building in City of Industry. I was up on a rickety wood 10' ladder when a hefty aftershock struck, I didn't feel a thing. The bottom of the ladder moved for sure, but I stayed static. Everyone on the ground thought I would fall for sure.
You don't need something like this to compile on a old stressed dam, holding back the San Gabriel river system, under these circumstances.

I'll never forget that quake! I was visiting my sister who lived in Lomita in '87. Their neighbors dogs barked all night long, we wondered why so I got up on a stool to try to see what was bothering them through the narrow, high window in her bedroom. Those dogs never barked at night so just when I was looking, the quake hit. It was a very roly poly quake as opposed to a jerky motion. We both got into the doorway, prayed until it stopped. Her swimming pool swished back and forth for a couple of hours but nothing broke.
I ran out to turn off the gas meter as I had heard about fires from broken gas lines. Phew, it was the largest of the many quakes I'd felt since I grew up in So. Cal. Glad you didn't fall off that ladder Jeff!
