All those boats need gas and if they get too many boats down there it could be a nightmare i.e. Running in to each other etc AND ALL THOSE PEOPLE ALSO NEED A PLACE TO SLEEP AND FOOD --I just hope it doesn't turn into a worse nightmare

Terra,
This Harvey is a TRUE DISASTER! The Twitters that people are sending for help! It is heartbreaking. I rarely want to cry but this storm made me want to cry. This deep cry from inside that I can't explain!

yEAH! The 3 kids and grandparents who were being driven out that drowned, all except the relative driving the SUV who managed to squeak through the window, the wet and cold animals left alone to die (many rescued too), and the officers/citizens who died trying to help... The inside cry comes from feeling suffering that is too much to bear for anyone as it happens way too fast to handle. We feel the 'anguish' on the air waves, so to speak. Kind of like other animal groups who undergo extreme threat and who put out a high pitched 'emergency yell'! That's my take anyway, nuts or not.
I heard about a psych follow up on Katrina children that had an unexpected result. Everyone thought these kids would get over their trauma but not. The trauma lives with them for the rest of their lives. I think the magnitude of this type of disaster disrupts normal life on so many levels that it renders people numb, in survival mode, grieving for everything lost, and later, brings serious PTSD. The kids' lives changed forever after Katrina.
