Yikes! Alligators in the streets of New Iberia and floating caskets in another town. Bad flooding. 19" in two days in some places!

I remember him saying that.
I have relatives in Lake Arthur living in one of those big old home places on the lake, well over 100 yrs old. Never flooded before. Now they're told they might get as much as 4 feet of water in the house.

Right now we're o.k., about 800 ft from the bayou that'll have to rise about 6 or more feet. If we go under right here, the rest of town will be another Lake Arthur. Totally waterlogged, water standing--still raining. Hope the orange tree at the back of the house doesn't drown before the water goes all the way down. It's loaded with this winter's oranges.

Lighting candles and spinnin' wheels for all the folks in floodwaters. This is worse than during a hurricane.
