Dolores is a bitch.

We went from drought to flood in 60 seconds. I've
never seen a t-storm like this one that blackened the
sky so dark the solar-sensor lights all turned on, and
then it poured.

there are cars being washed off roads, stuck in mud,
mudslides, flooding, drivers stranded... it's a mess.

We received an automated call about 10 minutes ago
from emergency services to stay in our homes (unless
we're in danger). All roads in and out of Tehachapi
are closed until further notice. Do not call police
unless there is an actual emergency.

more rain bands heading in. This is surreal.

lol Terra, you're about 2 weeks behind on reading post
there. We're fine! Our driveway washed out, but it's
fixed now. :)

Thanks...interesting. I think if infrastructure had
been that of 1932, the result may be the same. There
are some reports of water in houses, they are still
rescuing people out of cars. So far, I haven't heard
of any deaths though...thank goodness!

They're opening a red cross center at the Monroe high
school. I'm going to try to make it to work, they're
going to need me there if I can make it. But, more
rain coming in...another band on it's way.

Weatherman said it could be as bad or worse tomorrow,
so that shelter will be good. If I can't make it home
on the roads, I'll need a place to stay and have some
coffee.
