Luckily they got it out but the roof was lost. It is said that Nantes was trying to create it's own currency, not related I'm sure- ;) Not trying to start any rumors but it makes me wonder.

Here's le twitter pic. It's sad watching a huge fire consume such an historic landmark!

Snipped from link (top):

'The roof and the back part of the basilica - where some wooden beams have given way - have been severely damaged and efforts are now under way to save several precious objects inside the basilica, most notably its organ.

Brendon Jeffreys, who works at the University of Nantes, witnessed the fire take hold.

"Initially, it consisted of huge plumes of smoke coming from the tower, but after a few minutes the flames started poking through and taking hold of the roof," he told the BBC.

"Many of the passers-by were visibly upset. The most frequent comment that I overheard was 'la vache', an expression of disbelief."

La vache indeed. Here's a quick French lesson- :D

'La vache, tu arrives tôt !
Holy cow, you're early!

La vache ! Qu'est-ce que tu as fait ?
Damnit, what have you done!?

The familiar French exclamation la vache ! is a mild oath, used to express any moderate-to-medium reaction such as surprise, indignation, or admiration.

who said they were trying to create their own currency? links? please. According to reading this it is connected to the Catholic church... which would not fit the attack upon creating their own currency... or would it? Thoth at dreams had a dream which maybe related to an attack/false flag event in France... if this is what it is...

Well, searching shows that Nantes is not alone in creating 'funny money'. All of Europe is doing it- :D The article is from 2012 but the trend continues.

Another article says the fire was likely from some accidental chemical interaction from 'waterproofing' the roof.

I'll go with that, as the first article kind of blows a big hole in the conspiracy theory, if countries are trying to create their own currencies back in 2012. Seems like the EU is a big flop.

Reminding self to look at more than one article otherwise the information is skewed- :)
