Five days after coal ash began leaking into the Dan River in North
Carolina last weekend, Duke Energy still can’t say if the mess will
ever be cleaned up.

I know what you mean. It seems that water will be a problem
anywhere you go. Fracking is going to ruin this country. Just wait and
see. It will be too late one of these days...

Oh that is awful. First Charleston WVA...but the situation was different
and they had folks to stop washing or drinking the water. I don't see that
is a caution in this story yet.

I think of Kim from WVA every day and if she is reading I feel really bad I
posted the wrong words. Like it matters. Probably confused you and I
apologize again for that.

Does not seem anywhere is safe much these days.

It's odd about Duke Energy as they took over from the local Progress
Energy in FL about six month ago and I send my payments to Charlotte,
NC instead of Tampa. I guess they purchased the FL energy plants near
here? I am not sure, but I thought it was odd at the time.

I spent some times there with a sick relative at the big hospital in Duke.
Ironic whatever is going on.

Thanks for posting this.

For the longest time I was thinking move to NC, like Hickory not far from
that area, but maybe an hour or two. Then my mind just changed and
my energy is not there and it does not seem it matters as I was going to
do for my health...stats said water, air was better than here. I thought
climate maybe more stable as ours is freaking out. Sweating yesterday,
got cold at dusk, really cold about 30 degree drop in two hours.
