but of course those who are responsible for the lack of proper maintenance will shift the blame to the driver

Subject: Re: Crashed NY Metro-North train was 'over speed limit'

A train that crashed on Sunday in New York City was going 82mph (132
km/h) in a 30mph zone when it ran off the rails, investigators have
said.

Four people were killed and more than 60 injured in New York's Bronx
borough.

The Metro-North train from Poughkeepsie to New York City crashed
about 07:20 local time (12:20 GMT) on a curve.

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is investigating
whether a mechanical failure or human error caused the train's high
speed.

The train appeared to have been travelling over the speed limit even
before it thundered into the curve where it crashed - the speed limit on
the track approaching the curve is 70mph, NTSB board member Earl
Weener said on Monday.

New York Senator Charles Schumer called the locomotive's speed
"frightening".

"The fact that it was going 82mph even before the curve raises so many
questions, and it's scary," Mr Schumer said, adding that the rail line's
tracks and signals appeared to have been in working order at the time
of the accident.

Mr Weener said the train had made nine stops prior to the derailment,
and officials had not yet uncovered any brake problems.

He said preliminary data from the train's event recorders indicated the
train's brakes became fully engaged just five seconds before the
locomotive came to a complete stop after the crash.

In addition, he said the locomotive's throttle went to idle six seconds
before the train came to a stop.

Authorities continue to question the train's engineer and three other
crew members, and planned to transport the locomotive to a secure
facility for further examination.

Officials were examining the engineer's mobile phone - a standard
procedure, Mr Weener said.

they would have done better if they had given Rockefeller a "mickey" and doused him in alcohol

Seems he nodded of according to his union and by his own admission.

No booze in his system.

Do you have any links to youtube vids providing insights into the
conspiracy you're claiming?

The driver of a New York commuter train that derailed, killing four, lost
focus moments before the crash, a union leader has said.

William Rockefeller, 43, "basically nodded" and caught himself too late
to stop the train, Anthony Bottalico of the rail employees' union told the
AP.

The Metro-North train was travelling at nearly three times the speed
limit on a bend when it jumped the tracks.

Mr Rockefeller told emergency officials on the scene he had been "in a
daze", US media reported earlier, citing law enforcement sources.

He also told investigators that "he nodded. He zoned out," Mr Bottalico,
chairman of the Association of Commuter Rail Employees, told Reuters.

"He had the equivalent of what we all have when we drive a car," Mr
Bottalico said, according to the Associated Press news agency,
describing what Mr Rockefeller had related to him.

"That is, you sometimes have a momentary nod or whatever that might
be. How long that lasts, I can't answer that."

On Tuesday, National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) member Earl
Weener said drug and alcohol tests on Mr Rockefeller came back
negative.

And he said investigators had so far found no "anomalies" in the train's
brake system and that Mr Rockefeller had been on the second day of a
normal shift pattern.

"There's every indication that he would have had time to get full
restorative sleep," Mr Weener said.

'Unjustifiable' speed

On Monday, Mr Weener told reporters the train's data recorder had
shown action had been taken to reduce the train's speed from 82mph
(132 km/h) on a 30mph curve - but was done so far too late.

He said the train's throttle was reduced to idle six seconds before the
train skidded to a stop after derailing and its brakes were activated five
seconds before.

"He caught himself, but he caught himself too late... He powered down,
he put the train in emergency, but that was six seconds prior to
derailment," Mr Bottalico said, according to the Associated Press.

no ... i don't suppose you can imagine such a thing as a remote controller making the engine speed up no matter how hard you tried to stop it ... to my deep regret ... i've lived long enough to see things happen that ... on the surface ... seem like that's what really happened ... only to find out that there's the "rest of the story" that they didn't want me to hear about

I can imagine the train driver drank tainted unicorns milk which made
him drowsy… meanwhile the earth's axis tilted caused by the poles
shifting and comet ison which in turn caused the train to run
unexpectedly downhill at a faster speed than was intended - this was all
covered up by the Bene Gesserit secret society led by legendary stage
hypnotist Kenny Craig.

I can also imagine unkind people calling you fat online…

I can only conclude you have a vivid imagination
