This was the first time in a very long time that I was actually concerned for myself during az tornado outbreak. The one that started out by El Reno was bizaar in it's approach to the metro area on OKC. At times it looked like it was headed straight for me. But it created a slightly zigzag approach and would turn hard left and hard right. That's what caught SEVERAL storm chaser cars offguard including the one that cost the three veteran trackers their lives. It kept changing direction and was suddenly on top of them with nowhere to escape to. RIP X 3. So, I headed about 6 blocks over to the neighborhood biggie shelter in the basement of a church. Me and about 100+ neighbors, plus 2 dozen dogs and a few cats. I had my German Shepherd with me. We were there for about 2 hours because the funnels kept redeveloping, then lifting. I think some funnel wannabes flew over the edition because a lot of our trees were stripped at the top and several houses including mine were missing a few shingles. Could have been a lot worse. We were lucky. While I was at the church, a 10 yr old Iranian boy (so he told me) came over to pet the dog. He got along fine with him. Then he said quietly, "Your dog looks like a werewolf....I think she is a werewolf...werewolves hang out with vampires...are you a vampire? I said, "Shhh. Don't tell anyone." >^..^<

That video was good. However, the car at the front of the video is not the car Tim, Paul and Carl were in. It's the car Mike B. was in (he's in the video and they were all okay--roughed up a bit but okay). The car Tim, and the others were in--well I saw a photo of it and it was pulverized. It was more twisted in on itself than it would have been if it had gone through a car crusher. They were all found outside the vehicle and a half a mile or so apart. Tim was not in it for the glory, even though he was on Discovery Ch for a while. He was in it for the science and ultimately to understand tornadoes to save lives. RIP guys. >^..^<

yes, thanks for your report and stay safe. The winds/tornadoes are much more scary to me than quakes and I have been thru some of them in S Calif.

Even amidst the looming tornadoes a small child provide a good chuckle. ;). Thanks for sharing your experience and so glad you are okay, and safe to live another day! The paradox of extreme life experiences and the gift of heightened awareness of what really matters.
