Well, spoke today to a few family friends and oh boy ... VERY INTERESTING STORIES!
Some are still without electricity, for this whole time!
At least it's sunny, cold but the sun helps to warm up until sundown!
The local CVS got a shipment of water.
McDon***'s finally got their delivery, is open and doing brisk business.
The local gas station, the one with power, has 2 police cars blocking two entrances and the third entrance has the yellow police tape blocking it. There is quite a line, but very orderly.
Another local station has gas, the guy said he has the deposits completely full, but NO ELECTRICAL POWER, therefore he can't pump.
My friend told me that it her 2 hours to get gas early this morning. And she saw two big gas tank trucks surrounded by 2 military trucks and police. She said the military trucks were the camouflaged kind. She also said that the cars on the road had to be at least 2 car lengths behind this convoy, which were the gas big trucks (the round bodied ones), the military trucks and then a police car behind them and in front of them. When a car approached too close, a policeman on a motorcycle would ride between the convoy and the car, so the driver would back off. She followed this cs she's back on the road doing her early morning deliveries on Long Island.
Another long time family friend, said that yesterday the local Cit** station had Marines there along with police cars and it took 5 hours to get gas.
Walking to where this computer is, I just saw two guys each with two of the red gallon gasoline containers and they were coming from the same Cit** station which is a good 20-minute walk from here, and they were yelling out to their neighbors who were outside their door that the line was 4-5 hours wait. The neighbor asked if it took them that long. They said that was for cars waiting. Their line, to fill the containers were 1 hour wait. So I asked if they saw any military there, and they said not today but that the military trucks were there yesterday. This confirms what my friend said.
THIS IS INSANITY AND SERIOUS INCONVENIENCE DUDES & DUDETTES!
AND NOW THIS OTHER FREAKIN' STORM IS COMING UP AND ... I'LL LEAVE IT AT THAT!!!
The NY Post has pictures and an article that those 2 HUGE GENERATORS for the NY MARATHON WERE SENT BACK TO THEIR PLACE IN NJ and NOT SENT SOMEWHERE LIKE STATEN ISLAND!
I'M TELLING YOU GUYS, THERE'S GONNA BE RIOTS IN THE TRI-STATE AREA! And they'll probably start in the Rockaways cs that area IS STILL IN SERIOUSLY BAD CONDITION AND NEXT TO VERY LITTLE TRUE HELP ... AND THEN STATEN ISLAND IS GONNA GO NUTS!!!
With this coming storm, this Nor'easter, I e-mailed my friends TO GET THE HECK OUT OF NY IF THEY HAVE THE $$$!!! Go to Arizona, IL or CA ... somewhere else NOT ANYWHERE NEAR THE EAST COAST ... WAY INLAND!!!
STAY SAFE GUYS!!!

I was wondering about those generators for the marathon and what they did with them. A Holes..those could have helped. Speechless at that stupidity. Wth? Blessings and prayers to all there in the tri state areas. Really feel for those who are cold, hungry and scared.

I've been following your posts for about a year and you had been sensing something coming for New York and you were correct.
I don't know about advising people to come to California ,
We are do for a different kind of natural phenomenon.
You think that situation is crazy?
You haven't seen crazy like California crazy!

Roflmao, straight up from the land of good and plenty, milk and honey, erm, etc. Today my ma looked out the window and was mesmerized for a minute. I went over to see what she was so weird about. She said it's too quiet, not a leaf, not a blade of grass, not a hair on the neighborhood cat is moving. I bit on her image and the view for a minute and she was right. It was as though time stopped for just a minute or two- :D

ny,
I was talking about where I was and in a lot of places ... a lot of places here are in a state of just 'inconvenience' cs you have to walk to get something and maybe stores weren't open. I know people that didn't even get rain, just wind and nothing happened. BUT ... I WASN'T TALKING ABOUT THE OTHER DESTRUCTION! TV SHOWED IT ALL!

I get what you're saying.
I just find it fascinating that you FELT something coming to NYC a year ago and it finally happened.
I was being facetious about California.
Although most New Yorkers woudn't like it. We have subways but they don't go anywhere.
