Reports are coming in of a fast moving wildfire in southwest Palmdale, calif. The fire is reported at this time at about 200 acres and has 300+ firefighters attacking it. Winds have been giving them problems, but may be dying down now.

Thankfully, no structures are threatened at this time. If conditions continue to improve to the firefighters' favor, they may get this handled overnight.

Latest info on Hillside Fire burning near Ana Verde Community.

Palmdale Sheriff’s Station began receiving 911 calls starting at 9:00PM indicating there was a brush fire south west of the Ana Verde Community. Deputies responded to the location along with Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and established a joint command post to combat the fire.

Currently the fire is approximately 200 acres and burning south west of the Ana Verde community. The Los Angeles County Fire Department is not requesting home evacuations of any area; however are asking residents in the surrounding area to prepare themselves in the event evacuations are ordered.

The following roads in the Palmdale area have been closed to facilitate Fire Personnel and Equipment;
Elizabeth Lake Road between 25th Street West and Godde Hill Rd
Avenue S, West from Tierra Subida

Residents in the surrounding area are asked to begin to establish a plan for both family members and pets to be housed in unaffected areas if evacuations are ordered. In the event evacuations are ordered the Palmdale Sheriff Stations will make notifications via the Alert LA and the Nixle notification system.

They got it pretty much out over night and were mopping up hot spots this morning.

Firefighters out here, if they get half a chance, are absolutely awesome.
