I read a bit of this,amazing. Let me know what you think. I sorta didn't get the Bain Cap thing at first,lol.

Whoah, Palast's site is down. Maybe undergoing repairs of some sort- ;) Wow, good catch Dona! Great article. Tony Hayward is a bonafide corporate asshat. I'm not too aware of Mitt Romney's background with Bain, only that I don't like him. He's a glib, cartoon character to me. Dollars over Safety, same as it ever was. There's never any accounting for future technological disasters/ risk once the money starts rolling in, especially in big ticket energy products.
Gundersen talked about the same thing in the Fuku disaster when the host on Coast to Coast asked him if anything looked 'funny' with the effects of the 9 mag eQ and the lack of damage to Fuku. Gundersen said, I don't need a conspiracy to explain what happened since they knew that previously, 4 giant waves hit Japan and that American design engineers didn't seem to have a problem with helping the Japanese set up their reactors on an island loaded with faults and earthquake potential. We do it to ourselves over and over again. So, what to do? Should Tony Hayward and US/UK govt take responsibility for their lack of concern about future disasters and the cost of cutting corners for profit? What we've all done is criminal only from the perspective of hindsight it seems. Why we don't look ahead on the consequences of short cutting engineers and scientists to do the right thing, I don't understand. Our economic models are totally wrong if they always supercede all practical, scientific, and safe engineering practices. I don't want BEAN COUNTERS and aggressive, sociopathic politicians/CEO's making science and engineering decisions - period!

I missed gunderson darn,did hear the rest but sounded more like a big fat commercial for some mushroom smoothy ...sorta like ol Ed does with his pond scum.
They did the same thing in Ecuador some yrs back I believe. It's all a racket as they say.
