Maybe a watched pot will not boil, although R4 did catch on fire several times last year and this year, on Jan. 8. I saw a small 'horsetail plume' to the left of the reactor in last couple days. The R1, 2, and no. 3 reactors are doing such a good job of spewing though, not one person got tooo worried about R4!
Here are the headlines from Enenews.com, right on schedule (below). First I heard simply two pumps were out, 1 was restored by end of day. Now, no, neither are fixed and it may take 3 days. When pool temperature rises to 65 deg. C, the pool will 'boil baby boil.' Tepco's ability to keep the bullshit up, no matter what their task at hand or how dangers, is really shocking but I'm not surprised. Until they drop dead in their tracks they stick to their stories like fly paper. Today the close-by camera view was pixelating again, usually a sign of very high radiation. It's hard to look at the walkway and wonder what animal might be still alive.

June 6, 2012 tweets from Kuniko Tanioka, a member of the House of Councillors, translated by Fukushima Diary:
Tweet (Later removed by Tanioka) They checked the back up circulation (B) just in case, then they found the weakness of insulation between the motor and cable as well. They could see the metal part through the insulation part. For the risk of short circuit, they stopped (B) to fix as well. They estimate 3 days to fix.
Tweet at 2:46 AM – 6 Jun 12 The coolant system of reactor 4 is stopped at this moment. The temperature of water is 35ºC. They assume it increases by 0.3ºC hourly. It will be about 57ºC in 3 days. The safety regulation is 65ºC. NISA explains, it’s simple work, it won’t take longer than 3 days.
Tweet at 2:51 AM – 6 Jun 12 NISA explained the reason of these troubles is because the coolant system is improvised preparation. They plan to replace them with better preparation. For the question that reactor 1 ~3 have the same risk. they did not deny the possibility. This is something to concern. I will keep my eyes on it.

Wish the CIA would take over Japan instead of Syria on this one...who cares about terrorism when we have this headed straight at us. I tried to get word out a couple months ago and again this week but got actually backlash a couple months ago...strange,why?

Yup, I've asked the same 'why'? Some, it makes their heads hurt, others just don't give a damn until their friend, parents, or neighbors sport visible radiation burns or their dog's hair falls out..like that- ;) You could say I've had much too much time on my hands to view all the articles and cams on radiation. Honestly I had no friggin idea how we got sold down the river. The pride of man is such vanity compared to the lack of critical thinking and practical application. That scientists would feel so 'proud' of their lack of control of their ideas for money ideals and personal power, is truly tragic. Reading up on bio-rad effects and matching up rad geigers with reports and cams helped to make it real. For many it's an unreal fantasy that often sets those in denial to talking about 'how man is out of control' 'fulfilling all the fear about technology' 'a sci-fi future' etc. ad nauseum.
The people who really get to me though are the ones who want 'absolute evidence' that this is real and that there's something they can do about it. or why bother..arrrrgh! They do not want to know and will be the last to know until it bites them. The stance ensures that no one points the finger at them for any responsibility (even to themselves!) for this mess. Better to suffer the slings and arrows of misfortune rather than mitigate or escape radiation. Truly amazing attitudes are afloat. I will remind them, "I told you so" one day, just to be annoying.
The cams continue to show R1-3 positively billowing multi-colored rad gases. They talk about R4 but only in terms of 'if it falls' which it will, while the rest of the plant smolders into the cloud going around the planet around and around and around. Now they're putting a 60 ton cover on the sfp at R4 most think to avert 'sky shine' when it falls. Another conjectured that the plant will make a teepee shape when it falls rather than crump horizontally so why put a heavy cover when the rest of the building is weakened from water in the basement. Go figure, you can't make this stuff up what the Japanese have chosen to ignore or go 'round. Silly Noda now says Japan will fall apart if two reactors don't go online. It makes me want to shout at him, Japan is dying you fool! Do you want to die faster? All things considered, maybe he does.
Someone recently was on a jet going from 17,000 to 35000 feet, somewhere over the U.S. (four hour trip so I figure it was coast to coast), with meter in hand. The readings went from 'high' level to extremely high level radiation (like get off the plane, NOW). She was shocked and told someone that they should go back down- :) The airline pilots and crews are going to take a real hit flying through this crap all the time. They need the NASA skin-wrinkle fix (AS-something) published for commercial production that was meant to mitigate the astronaut's radiation. The companies should give it to them for free!
And the rads, they just keep coming no matter what you think, what propaganda is force fed on the masses, and in spite of anything done to stop the 'nuclear forces. Now there's talk about 'wonderful Thorium!' It just keeps going..while 400+ nuclear plants lay in wait in the wings for a large cosmic or earth change event to change the path of life on the planet. It's just a matter of time unless some brainiac can reverse engineer the energy release of radiation without blowing it up. Maybe putting the waste in a time warp could help, LOL. Meanwhile, some pro-nuke fool says why build Yucca Mt when we'll need another one as soon as it's filled up. By that time, we'll all be eating little nuclear shaped cereal bits for breakfast taht are full of radiation, with our utterly radiated cow's milk. Mmmmm. What radiation doesn't kill outright, it will derange, disable, and slowly take apart. Just ask the animals on the walkway how it happens. Oh ya, they're all dead (at least they're not suffering now after a couple of terrible nights in May).
I'm still figuring out how to talk about the significance of Fukushima to people, under in the current info 'blackout.' Keep it simple, two or three bullets, that's it - not easy. In my case, first, I have to calm down- :)

I love your post. You put things in order and express things with an in tune manner. Yesterday I was shocked when a big world call went out to build an asteroid warning system so I tweeted one of the authors stating,If the international Partners are doing nothing about the Japan reactors they sure are not going to do anything about any asteroid that might hit. I was surprised he re-tweeted me,lol I last year online talked about what would happen if we started building nuke plants again when an we know of a couple of asteroids headed straight at us and how absolutely careless that was. Even a smaller hit could cause a bigger problem with more plants. They will not evacuate Japan or Oregon or Afghanistan for that matter. I just wonder really where all our tax money going to the sciences are really doing? I did not even post the article yesterday when it first came out. I dumped it...I just searched it found this. Much of it has changed from the original however. How can we ever think of moving money into asteroids now when Japan is sitting right there??!! What are they thinking? See link
