stunned by massive hailstones and flooding
Tel Aviv, the city of Israel, is hit by a severe
weather event on November 7, 2023. The heavy rainfall
triggers widespread flooding and hailstorm across the
city. The deluge causes waterlogging, traffic chaos,
and damage to property and infrastructure. The Israeli
authorities also postpone a planned ground military
operation in the Gaza Strip due to the adverse weather
conditions.
The floods also affected the transportation system, as
several main roads and highways were blocked by water .
The Ayalon Highway, which runs through the heart of Tel
Aviv, was closed for several hours, causing traffic
jams and delays. The public transportation was also
disrupted, as buses and trains were canceled or
rerouted. The airport was also affected, as some
flights were delayed or diverted.
