Route, south of Castaic Lake near NB I-5 Fwy in Los Angeles County.
Evacuations and road closures in effect.

Structures threatened
· Evacuation orders in effect
· Closure of portions of I-5 Southbound
· Continued construction and improving control lines
· Unified Command with USFS, LA County Fire
· Federal air and ground resources assigned
The brush fire started at 12:01 p.m. on August 31, 2022, and is under unified
command or jointly managed by LA County Fire Department, the Angeles
National Forest, CAL FIRE, and the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department
(Santa Clarita Station). The California Highway Patrol, CalTrans District 7,
and the Red Cross are also assisting with the Route Fire.

South of Templin Highway (includes Paradise Ranch Mobile Estates)
East of I-5 Fwy.
West of Castaic Lagoon

This one we could see from our house--even 30+ miles
away. It sent a huge plume up and we even had ash fall
at our house.
The good news is I-5 is reopened and the fire is in mop
up phase at this time.
It's definitely a reminder to keep a go-bag or emergency
kit updated and handy this time of year. The worst of
the season is still ahead of us when the Santa Ana's
start to blow.

Thanks for the alert, have family not too far from there.
They have to drive the i5, going to /from home/work.
Allot people depend upon traveling the I5. Prayers for
safety for ALL.
