The Easy Fire just started a little bit ago in Simi
Valley and is already 100+ acres due to 30+ mph Santa
Ana winds. Mandatory evac's are in place and units are
working to set up structure protection at the Ronald
Reagan library. BC 17 is IC.

(from my calif disaster email list):
"This fire is now at about 1000 acres with no
containment and a couple of structures burning. Reagan
Library was burned around but survived but now the focus
is protecting homes and not allowing the fire to jump
the 23 Freeway to the west."

quick update this morning:
the latest fact sheet from Ventura County Fire
Department for the Easy Fire. Some basic facts are:
1,650 acres with 0% containment but no forward progress
now. 2 structures destroyed.
