Tons of nuclear-contaminated particles have been dumped into
Japan’s Furumichi River when devastating Hurricane Hagibis
washed away quite a few baggage of poorly-secured Fukushima
waste – however the Surroundings Ministry gained’t say what
number of.

An unknown variety of baggage, every holding as much as one
ton of contaminated soil and vegetation from the Fukushima web
site, have been swept away from a storage web site in Tamura
when the river flooded underneath heavy rains attributable to the
storm over the weekend.

No less than 17 baggage have since been recovered – however 10
of these, discovered caught in timber alongside the river on
Wednesday, had spilled their radioactive contents into the water –
and the Environmental Ministry stays silent on what number of
baggage are nonetheless lacking.

Yes, that is my understanding and from other articles as well.
Seems I recall from viewing a couple of documentaries that the
surrounding area the surface of the soil and any debris was
scooped up and placed in plastic garbage bags. I found an article
about it at the link. So much for that solution, eh.

thx for posting!
i was just ready to post this in the earthwatchers section, but you beat me to it :-)

very very worrisome, especially since some 2,667 bags were left out in the open without even a sheet placed over them for protection
Should be viral news, but of course nothing about this on the mainstream newssites in my country..
IMO the most important news right now
