And we had someone here linking to a youtube video of a CTist claiming it was dragons gone amok *shakes head*
No wonder why folk lap up and believe anything Trump says...
Conspiracy videos suggesting that the California wildfires were lit by government laser beams have clocked up millions of views on YouTube.
News site Motherboard found conspiracy theories and fake news topped search suggestions, when looking for clips of the California wildfires.
It said YouTube had "not adequately stopped these conspiracy theories from blossoming on its platform".
YouTube said it has made a long-term commitment to tackle misinformation.
At least 80 people have died in the fires which swept across the state of California in November. 500 people remain unaccounted for after the so- called Camp Fire destroyed the town of Paradise.
But YouTube has provided a "thriving" home for misinformation about the fires, Motherboard said.
It found people searching for the fire were recommended topics such as "conspiracy 2018", "directed energy weapon" and "laser beam".
Many of the conspiracy videos falsely suggest the fires were deliberately lit with plane-mounted laser weapons. They use manipulated or out-of- context images to back their arguments.

I find the conspiracy YT about the heist of land for mineral rights to be a much more plausible reason for the destruction, regardless of the fire anomalies (and there are plenty of those for people with eyes to see). Paradise is on top of gold nuggets! A lawyer or real estate person tipped off Joe (Fullerton Informer) to what everyone in Paradise needs to do, right NOW.
Agenda 21 is real (read the documents!) and no doubt supported by Trump and any other official invested in corporations and land development (often government in the latter case). The destruction is aided and abetted by a bi-partisan corporatocracy backed by a military-industrial network of global elites who call the shots. This group dissociates itself with 'the commoners', the plebians, as it were. My problem with corporate-mil- industrial visions is that they tend to be idealistic rather than practical, self serving rather than open to scrutiny, power preserving to elites, and abjectly insensitive to the misery and survival of those they feel are lesser than their collective selves.
If you believe YT or Motherboard is capable of objectively sorting fake news from a dearth of real investigative reporting, including testimonies from fire experts, think again. Mainstream news is like a giant octopus that grabs information and turns out blobs of pacifying pablum and entertainment, excluding any news that could be seen as anti-gov't, anti-military, anti-industrial, especially hidden developmental or experimental projects, or even discussion about the news reported or felt impressions of people who were in the area of anomalous events. Stopping down public discussion of chaotic and traumatic events is not very smart, unless you want to add insult to injury.

up to a few days ago I did not think that way. however here in TN we are getting the coldest near record cold temperatures we usually get in February.
all this reminds me of a global cooling experiment that the US and Canadian government tried. they burnt a 1000 mile stretch of the border by 1 mile on each side. I thought it was to enable the US to observe smugglers by satellite. but that was the coldest winter in New England that year. we rarely even saw below zero temperatures. but one month it never got above zero. and it hit a low 31 degrees, with one week never going above minus 21 degrees.
a government test, huh? they say they do not tamper with the weather. but in war time/ the a-rab war/ I am sure the military is doing it's part.
the smoke from those wild fires I am sure is the cause of the weather being like it is. it is funny this happened last year when there were many.
so are they trying to change the temperatures to fool people into believing there is no global warming? you bet! I believe it will just compound the global warming and speed it along. Ed

Have you actually survived one of these fires? I have. And I've survived many more as a lifelong coastal So Cal resident. I watched the impossible happen last Dec when 3 large cities burned simultaneously. I witnessed other things as well. I know 100 percent that these fires are not typical California brush fires. I've also watched the weather anomalies that have driven our drought for many years. You are an ass. I hope you never have to experience the horrors some of us have that are blamed on nature and have zero to do with nature. Actually, maybe you should experience it.

There was one of these disinformation youtube videos posted here on earthboppin by a woo merchant claiming dragons were causing the fires. And no it wasn't satire, but someone really out there putting beyond stupid superstitious ideas about in the midst of an ongoing disaster affecting people.
Bopp I believe removed the post because he was requested and presumably he agreed that it came under the 'fake news' / 'alternative facts' / 'fire in theatre' categorization and wasn't even worthy of moving to WOWS board.
Please get a clue before getting your knickers in a twist.

mimici, thanks for writing a first hand account. the know it alls on this site have been making fun of alternative theories about the cali fires since it started. The pix I have seen support YOUR position. Maybe the brainiacs around here will take a moment to read your post. Hope so.

Well, this one also lives in so cal, and has been here my whole life to see the evolution of fires.
No, not dragons. Not microwaves. Not chemtrails.
Drought and climate changes.
Yes, we've always had fires--but what these fires are doing now has a whole different character.

Hadn't seen the one about fire breathing dragons lol but there again, there are always people that are gullible, who will believe anything. Always good to have humor, but the one thing that ticks me off big time is when those that come up with their half baked ideas, monetize them, often at the expense of families that have lost a loved one in tragedy.

snodrop, you know who's BEST at monetizing disasters? The RED CROSS!!! They drove empty trucks around long Island during hurricane sandy to promote themselves. Now THATS despicable, so is the salary of their "head", now that's a REAL scam girlie.

Yup...and as far as I know they also gather money for the next disaster instead of the one that they are facing...during hurricane Sandy there was plenty of footage that they had empty trucks and were there for the photo op.

I don't believe he's sensoring anyting, he's stating his opinion on the matter and warning others to be conscious of CT snake oil.
Many here seem to take any resistance of their own psuedoscience beliefs as censorship.
It is not. It's rebuttal and disagreement.
Apparently that is not allowed (or should not be) in your world.
Good for Alan..I agree with him. I've seen these (and called out) a few of these CT claims as I have a good knowledge of fires, ignition sources and fire science...it seems to do nothing. People with little or no science background seem to want to believe them so badly they'll do so--even when it does not make sense, highlights their lack of science education or serves a greater political/belief system need for them in their personal life.
That is not a reason not to continue to "rebut" these CTs when they come through. By your definition, attempting to thwart real science, disagreement and rebuttal would constitute censorship on your behalf? No?
We definitely need more support of science in schools.

Did you see the fire expert's opinion on the 2017 NorCal fires? Funny, I didn't see mainstream talking about his opinion! At least people shoukd acknowledge and research the anomalies, talk to experts, and come to their own conlusions. Sorry but climate change, drought, and 'wind driven' surface fires with abnormal temperatures that left the crowns of trees unburned does not make logical sense! I don't think you've reviewed the anomalous details. Instead of supporting scientific dogma, you still need to come up with a plausible reason for the anomalies. When scientists or non-science amateurs gloss over data collecting, measurements, and science research with experts, or, launch ad hominem attacks, all that means is that one has a belief in one answer or another. The real answer right now is that we do not have a comprehensive understanding how these fire anomalies occurred. If you don't think we are conducting experiments on the people and the environment that is a whole other issue about 'belief' I'm not going into here (look up the studies). People who are traumatized from anomalous events deserve answers and certainly have a right to discuss the possibilities openly, without harassment and judgement!

I live in the sierras--I've seen all this and understand fire science pretty well. I understand the conditions of these fires. One of our businesses was fire hazard reduction services.
I know people that have evacuated and lost homes (and have had to evacuate a time or two myself--luckily, without loss) in these fires. I've volunteered to help victims in the aftermath.
I'll judge as I see it, thanks. I think I've earned the right to my opinion. It's up to you whether to like it or not.
