You might find this page interesting. It has the news
stories about Rattlesnake Ridge all in one place, and
there's a webcam set up across the river on Ahtanum
Ridge looking east to Rattlesnake Ridge. It shows the
quarry where the experts say the slide is going to go
into.
On the map it looks like Ahtanum Ridge and Rattlesnake
Ridge started out as one long ridge, and then the
Yakima River cut through. My guess would be that
happened when Glacial Lake Missoula let loose.
I think it's interesting that the quarry has not been
officially blamed for this, yet the company which owns
the quarry has paid for temporary housing for the
people who live in the trailer park in the path of the
slide. Some people asked online why they don't just
move the trailers to a safer trailer park, and the
answer is that the trailers are so old they can't
safely be moved on the public roads.
So far I-82 at the base of the ridge is still open,
but you wouldn't catch me driving on it.

Thanks, I think the video person made reference to the quarry being the cause, a few vids back.
