they were calmer last night, much less ash , it was also much colder....too bad the winds will kick up again..
but the fires keep on going...300 missing persons reports , some are obviously due to the lack of cell phone connections...
I'm waiting to hear if a friend's house up in Geyserville survived....

hope you do hear from them marja. My sister's BF has friends in Santa Rosa, hadn't heard from them until he at least got an email from one friend saying their home was ok but they are still evacuated. He grew up in Sebastopol, has relatives there too.
One of our old time favorite parks looks to have pretty much burned, the Annadel state park north of Sonoma, a very beautiful park with the biggest Jack Rabbits we ever saw and many deer too.
Some good news, the Safari West Wildlife Refuge managed to save it's 1000 animals from the fire though the owner lost his home.
Very concerned about those winds, blowing 20-30 now in some areas.

Sheila I saw that on the fire map, how much of Annadel Park is on fire! I couldn't believe it. I hope some of the animals could literally hop their way out of the smoke though many animals go crazy in fire and run the wrong way. Maybe there is water in the park where some can take refuge? I've never been there but it looked like a gorgeous park on the maps.
