The upshot is that there is a massive tornado watch for S. Florida, seven times the housing permits and 35% more population since 1992 to 2016 in Dade County, numerous open construction sites with debris to fly in the storm, and a storm that is much wider and stronger than Hurricane Andrew.
I know it's a small thing but the flamingos were rounded up at the Miami Zoo and put into a room with GLASS the full length of one wall (link below)! Aren't they going to board the windows? They are rounding up homeless people too, who are found in the streets not wanting to get to shelter, under the 'Baker Act'. Personally, I don't have a problem with that since they will be floating corpses, otherwise- :o
Link above: 'While Hurricane Andrew previously devastated the same region when it made landfall as a category 5 hurricane 25 years ago, officials say Irma is actually more dangerous due to its size.
"Andrew made landfall as a category 5 hurricane with maximum winds around 165 mph," The Weather Channel reported. "However, the areal extent of hurricane force winds were confined to about 70 miles from the center of circulation. Irma’s expected to make landfall with winds [in excess of] 145 mph, but its areal extent of hurricane force winds will be over twice as large as Andrew’s. The larger size of the hurricane coupled with its high intensity implies that Irma has larger integrated kinetic energy than Andrew, which is a predictor of damage potential than maximum intensity alone."
Make sure your disaster kit is stocked, and within reach. If you're in West Palm Beach, Palm Beach County public safety can be reached at 1-561-355-2384, or visit the Palm Beach County public safety page for updates.'

By Dan Taylor (Patch Staff) - Updated September 9, 2017 12:47 pm ET MIAMI, FL — A huge and possibly unprecedented tornado watch has been issued for the entire southern portion of Florida stretching from Lake Okeechobee on the northern end all the way down to Everglades National Park.
On the East Coast, that includes everything from Jupiter at the northern end down past Miami to near Key Largo. On the Gulf side, that warning stretches from Port Charlotte and Fort Myers down through Naples and beyond.

I offer this for consideration:

Further I am reminded of the Executive order signed October 13, 2016 by BO which was immediately put into action and I figure encompassed several drills/"operations".

Our tax dollars in action....
We have had worse canes in Florida and never had this kind of power outage (at link). Also never had we not had the mail run regular or Publix not open regular afterwards. Even in locations with no outage it sounds like Publix grocery will not open so I am glad I have extra. Who knows when mail or deliveries start up again during possible testing phases. I known Miami to loose power for a couple weeks after a cane but this is different. Also the warnings ahead of time. I never had calls from the power company before leaving recorded messages not once but twice. Once before the event and once after...plan/drill in action I reckon. I just glad I not in the outage zone and purchased plenty extra of food, water, etc.
Overall it looks like Tampa and the county and the one I live in are okay as there is no shaded area on the power outage map...If it's correct that is.

Operation Black Sky: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2017-08-10/black-sky-hazards-feds-wargame-widespread-power-outages-and-cascading-infrastructure
As the world teeters on the brink of a nuclear confrontation with North Korea, FEMA and the U.S. Department of Energy are preparing to wargame so-called "Black Sky Hazards" that could result in a "subcontinent scale, long duration power outage, with cascading failure of all our other increasingly interdependent infrastructures." Here's how EarthEx2017 described the exercise:
Concerns have grown over the potential for severe malicious or natural “Black Sky” hazards associated with subcontinent scale, long duration power outages, with cascading failure of all our other increasingly interdependent infrastructures. This creates a grim and difficult dilemma: Restoration of any sector will only be possible with at least minimal operation of all the others. To deal with this deadlock, careful sector by sector and cross-sector resilience planning is crucial. However, such plans, to be effective, must be exercised. With the diversity and the national and global scale of the infrastructures we now depend on, this requires an unprecedented, multi-sector, national and international exercise series.
EarthEx defines "Black Sky Hazards" as a "catastrophic event that severely disrupts the normal functioning of our critical infrastructures in multiple regions for long durations." Here are a couple of examples of things EarthEx is prepping for:
Of course, large-scale natural disasters could also result in similar widespread failures of critical infrastructure:
According to former Florida Congresswoman Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, "Black Sky Events," though largely dismissed as a remote possibility by most, will occur...it's just a matter of when, not if. More from Paul Joseph Watson:
“Cars would have no fuel. Restaurants and grocery stores would be bare. Electricity could be out for months in such an event,” writes Mike Vasilinda. According to former Florida Congresswoman Michelle Rehwinkel Vasilinda, North Korea’s saber rattling is making top brass “anxious” about potential society-changing disasters. “It’s not “if” but “when” a Black Sky event will occur,” writes Vasilinda, an alarming statement given that she discusses meeting with “members of the U.S. military, National Guard Adjutant Generals, officials from Homeland Security, Department of Energy, FEMA, NOAA, and experts from the utility, distribution and supply sectors,” at a private summit held in Washington DC. Perhaps it's time to do a little doomsday prepping?

oops I left this one out which was the primary reason I posted on account of the canes and vast power outage we never had in Florida to my recall unless it was closer to the danger zone as it was in Hurricane Andrew for Miami-Dade county. Also keeping in mind the recent solar flare report and also last years Executive Order as well as Earthquake scenarios....weather wars we get to be guinea pigs.

I saw a few youtubes talking about the water being sucked out of Tampa Bay and the locals never seen it like that. Well I have and it was not from a cane...maybe was drought as it went on for some time. I used to live on the Bay and take a walk through a park beside the Bay nearly every day so I could step right in if I wanted to. It's not deep at all it's very shallow. I heard but not sure on this...that the Tampa Bay is only about 10 feet at it's deepest point.
I used to see many fisherman way far out in the bay when it is full of water....who walked out there in thigh high boots to fish and it was at the most up to their waist far out into the bay. So there's that. I don't know why the water was sucked out so much but I would guess part of the tides and storm surge and factor in it's a very shallow bay.

The White House Office of the Press Secretary For Immediate ReleaseOctober 13, 2016 Executive Order -- Coordinating Efforts to Prepare the Nation for Space Weather Events
EXECUTIVE ORDER - - - - - - - COORDINATING EFFORTS TO PREPARE THE NATION FOR SPACE WEATHER EVENTS
By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, and to prepare the Nation for space weather events, it is hereby ordered as follows:
Section 1. Policy. Space weather events, in the form of solar flares, solar energetic particles, and geomagnetic disturbances, occur regularly, some with measurable effects on critical infrastructure systems and technologies, such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), satellite operations and communication, aviation, and the electrical power grid. Extreme space weather events -- those that could significantly degrade critical infrastructure -- could disable large portions of the electrical power grid, resulting in cascading failures that would affect key services such as water supply, healthcare, and transportation. Space weather has the potential to simultaneously affect and disrupt health and safety across entire continents. Successfully preparing for space weather events is an all-of-nation endeavor that requires partnerships across governments, emergency managers, academia, the media, the insurance industry, non-profits, and the private sector.

They got some good things going and some not so good things going...xfinity opened up free wifi to anyone that can use it, but most the time your on an radio with batteries in these storms. Much of Florid ais without electricity to recharge anything like computers or tablets...but it's nice the thought is there. They already have started to donations to various groups to help in the after math...for things like food and blankets and homeless shelters. Last I heard they were saying probably $20 Billion in damages. That's our problem..everything is so expensive. Should make plenty of money though for those rebuilding and repairing things though.

miami was baker acting the homeless on the streets starting yesterday. Sure, it might adversely affect their "civil rights" but just being out there with no shelter tells you enough about their mental state to protect them from themselves, well at least for 72 hours! I'm ok with that...

That was wrong and part of Operation Black Sky. Florida has has been having major drills for martial law and I know as I was a victim of one of those drills. You best beware and wake up before they baker act you for no good reason...If those folks get out in the middle of the storm and "risk" their life to bring the fear porn to the world...why are they not baker acted? etc. It makes no sense and Christ Jesus was homeless btw! get a clue.

What they gonna do to those they incarcerated by the Baker Act is force them to take drugs cause now they handcuffed them and forced them into incarceration and a crazy person declared another they are incompetent because they don't trust the authorities (and they probably have good reason)...they must give them death care (no wonder these folks not want to go with them they most likely know this). I doubt those ones Baker Acted ever see their homeless freedoms again. They aught to be free to chose but they not ....that's not freedom that is enslavement.

this just came across my news feed on computer
The hidden death toll of hurricane evacuations Residents are seen inside Brookdale Margate, a retirement community west of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., which evacuated to Tampa on Friday. NAPLES, Fla. — Learning that they needed to evacuate from Hurricane Irma could have been traumatic for the 40 residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia, so a nursing home here decided to tell them a comforting tale: The charter buses that arrived to go north were taking them “on vacation.”
On the other side of Florida, there was no sugarcoating the emergency. Televisions at an assisted-living facility north of Fort Lauderdale had for days been tuned to the weather channel when, on Friday morning, the staff lined up all 200 residents outside on the driveway. Nurses strapped color-coded ID-wristbands onto each resident and used white packaging tape to label walkers and wheelchairs. “I hope they know what they’re doing,” said 93-year-old Mildred Herschenhous, clutching her purse in her lap before two staffers came up and helped her out of her wheelchair and onto a bus. “I’ll be fine, but some of these gals, they’re not as young as me.” more at link

I confess I not read the article as I trying to catch up. Yet when I heard they were incarcerating the homeless by the Baker Act in Florida...(that is one evil act I tell you true )...I thought of your dream where police where trying to round up people and the stuff in the sky and something about a square entity...a woman (?) ...Excuse me I am revved up after hours of sleep and trying to catch up.
Florida is not the only state that has these types of "acts"...I can't recall which ones do and what names are but I known so many been wrongly accused and abused with this "act" it's so sad so very sad. It's not freedom it's a trick from the adversary. Lawyers are major into using it even to the point of they get a client who sign up for their legal advise and not want to take that advice they use the Baker Act and imprison them and then use it to drain their finances.
Beware out there folks there are so many booby traps it's unreal and many unbeknownst to us regular folks! I knew a girl whose husband had a lawyer sister and wanted divorce and custody of kids and while she was out his sisters house with soon to be ex his sister called cops while the girl I speak of was in a room placing her daughter in a bed for a nap and the sis in law lawyer told cops she saw the mom (my friend) trying to smother her daughter with a pillow! So the cops locked my friend the mother up and she could not get out of prison for over a year and she did manage to get minimal visiting rights to her daughters but and when she did finally get a job had to pay child support . She was not like the sis in law declared...she loved those girls ...I knew the hubby too and he not forthright...I always wonder how friend wed him but she was so supportive and crazy bout that dude. I lament thinking on this but I feel led to share that the laws are so crazy folks lie about so much and beware of legal beagles they in it to get around the law and abuse it not follow it.

OMG, those poor people! Thanks for the update. Yeah, all those people headed to western Florida for respite from the storm after all the spaghetti models said it was going eastward. Sad. I guess the only worse thing they could do to these patients is put their names and SS numbers on their arms with a marker pen! It reminds me of the Fukushima people they evacuated smack into one of the plumes. Eegads.
