I liked that interview.. really puts American's brand of bible thumpers in their place.. oh how far they have fallen. Seriously, he nailed it to the wall.. on climate, on immigration.. but will anyone listen? Probably not as long as that orange moron is shouting at everyone..

...13 minutes with the Pope who is the current leader of a Church that has been around for centuries seems a bit short to get a good handle where the Church really is at this particular moment in time.
When you add centuries of "power" to the words and wisdom of Christ, you are bound to come up with contradictions and slips of faith. The Pope is obviously in a difficult position balancing the older with the newer and explaining this to the World in general.
I was raised in the Mormon Religion and encountered the "contradictions" well before the age of 16 that the Church could not explain to my satisfaction. I moved on and pursue my relationship with the Creator in a more personal and intimate manner these days.
I don't blame Bible thumpers for all that ails this World, nor do I disrespect the Pope who is obviously immersed in Spiritual conundrums of his own.
Each of us have the "solutions" within that are both reachable and consistent with the even and balanced powers of creation that coexist with the "one" in all of us presently on the earth.
Respect, unconditional love, and an unending devotion to all of mankind is a good start, whether you find it in organized religion or on your own path...
...or perhaps an enlightened joining of the two.
All roads eventually return each of us to our creator.
...you're more than welcome ao.

Right on, Nev. it's too bad most haven't gotten the message.
I especially like your observation..
"the Pope who is obviously immersed in Spiritual conundrums of his own"
No shite, eh? The guy is caught between his open borders and inability to grant women equal standing.. his it's ok to be gay, but not married.. but man, at least he's wrestling with all the real issues, rather than closeting himself in the church's past..
I just love that he's been clear on the effects of our immigration policies.. in their face.. fuck maga's bullshit. I am so tired of Trump and his follower's indulgence in hate..

"...I am so tired of indulgence in hate..."
...which is why I will not be supporting republicans or democrats this year...
...and will throw my support and hope for the future behind Jill Stein and the Green Party.
I especially respect her support for all of humanity, not just those with the "power" to push.
Seeing five New York Policeman push her to the ground and hold her there to protect America was a deciding factor.
Appreciate both your thoughts and your integrity ao.

Thank you, Nev.
And, btw, I agree with you about the nonsense between the major parties, but see it a bit differently.
I see the Dems as good hearted and seriously dysfunctional in that they nitpick.. they delve into the nuances and create differences where none exist. They have differences of opining over just about everything. Whereas the Repubs are united in their belief in lying as a means to get what they want.
I see the differences as plane as good verses evil.. and the Republicans are wholly consumed in evil. To me one has to be completely committed to hate in order to sidle up to Trump. There is no way one could get within a hundred miles of voting for Trump, or any other Republican at this point, unless they themselves have committed themselves to the destruction of life itself.
So, as much as I might think voting my ideals is a good idea, I think standing up, in mass, and voting for someone that actually has a chance to win against Trump is essential. Is as important as the air we breathe.

Both republican and democratic parties are almost totally dysfunctional at this point and lying comes a lot easier for them than telling the truth. Sorry, you can't run a country that way and still try to call it a democracy.
Ironically they get all upset at others countries that try to emulate that insanity.
I'm voting for world peace this time around and at the very least gain bragging rights that I did the right thing...
Both Trump and Biden are out of their minds.
Jill Stein has the courage of her convictions and the guts to do and say what the others try to hide from.
I actually feel like a kid again ao.

I get the feeling you've been listening to the GOP more than is healthy.
It's like Trump, he always says the other guy is doing exactly what he's doing himself. He said Hillary was this and that when it fact it was Trump. He says the economy is bad when in fact it is he that would fuck the economy over. You say the Dems are whatever, but it sounds like you're parroting DJT.
Trump blames everything on everyone but himself. It is the silliest schtick. And at this point it is pathetic. It looks pathetic, it sounds pathetic. And yet so many Americans buy it that it becomes the talking point, and here you seem to be just passing it along yourself.
I am sorry, but I live in a democratic state, and folks here don't behave like that, at all. They talk policy, they do not blame their woes on others just to dodge the issues. Sheesh, my congressional rep was on the tv this morning talking legislation to us like an adult. Talking policy, talking the process, but not going on with a barrel full of lies like the Republicans do.
Hawaii is small town America. I know my rep, she's a neighbor.. it's really just people taking care of people, talking to each other. When I look at the way your state runs things, the fake electors you all have, the lies, the cheating. You must be disgusted with them.. right? So how come you're promoting the illusions they are foisting on you?
So no, I don't buy it Nev. You're living in a world that is predicated on telling lies.. and there's so many of them how can you tell the difference? Maybe if you were to free yourself of that shit.. you know.. stop listening to the GOP. Otherwise, as long as you're trying to parse their words you'll be tied into knots no matter.
To put it another way.. Jesus stood up against the corruption in the temple.. the money and all that.. why are Christians not standing up to the GOP's corruption? To their lies? To their criminalizing our lives? Chas seems to have embraced the whole thing.. he's thrown in his hat with evil so as to 'protect the unborn.' Is that really the best choice? Is that how you would suggest we attend our affairs?

I asked... "Is that how you would suggest we attend our affairs?"
And you know, I know the answer, it's no, you wouldn't. Right? You have said you're equally disgusted.. but I am trying to point out that you're disgusted with the GOP. You can't help but be overwhelmed by their noise.. and the Dems are having to push back.. make more noise.. the whole thing is a cluster fuck. I get it.
Just try and see that this whole charade is being pushed down the road by the GOP. The dems would love to talk about how many angels really dance on the head of a pin.. how to deal with the border for instance. And yes they're far too engrossed in the nuances.. but it's the GOP that's foisting all the bullshit on us right now.. they demand a border bill, get it, and then rile against it.. they're the ones filling the space with lies.. really, take a speech by Trump and tell me how many sentences are actually true.. they're not.. none of them..

I said nothing to indicate my support for republicans or democrats...
...just the opposite... both are toxic and deadly to the world.
I did say I was voting for Jill Stein. Do you have any thoughts on that?
I respect your comments on Trump, I just happen to believe Biden is just as toxic...
...hence my announced support for Jill Stein.

"I respect your comments on Trump, I just happen to believe Biden is just as toxic..."
And I your's. I was just pointing out that from here it looks as if it is the Republicans that are creating all the noise you are interpreting as both party's doing. But that's ok.. I am sure you can sort it out.
As to Jill, I can not fathom why she is running (why does one run a race they know they will lose?) And why anyone would give her their vote, unless it is as you suggest, an ideologic choice without any expectation other than to be counted as supporting ideas alone. A vote for what she, in one’s interpretation, stands for. And, yeah, that is all well and good. But then, as the article I posted over on National suggests, she may in fact have other concerns. Concerns that may not be inline with your's.
I don't know. Really, you asked, I searched, read a few things, found that one article to be interesting, but over all, if she really does pull votes from Biden more than Trump she can't help but be working for MAGA, unintentionally or otherwise. And in that case any vote for her is basically a vote for Trump.
My thoughts.. the stakes are too high to vote for ideals. Your’s, akira’s, anyone's. And I could care less one party over the other really. I’d rather not know about any of it. In fact the reason I see this as the defining moment that I believe it is has little to do do with your ideas of how to steer a country or mine. The reason this is the moment it is is because from here we’ll either figure out how to work towards a common goal of righting the wrongs done by using the atmosphere as a dumb, or we’ll destroy the planet and our civilization with it.
It’s as basic as that. Trump gets into office and you can kiss any chance we have to stop the ice from melting and all the accompanying calamities that entails goodbye. That’s it, and to spice it up we'll either follow our sloppy form of democracy into finding the solution or go down in a totalitarian clusterfuck.
And under all that some sick perverted energy got the notion that if it were to destroy life, break the cycle of incarnation on Earth, it could destroy the spiritual evolutionary process and sweep all this energy up for its own design. As if, right? And still..
The trippy part is, to me, how the different voices of the Christian god are lining up on either side. How Christianity’s influence over so many is being used.. the pope says this, delusional white nation christians say that.. I really thought the Pope’s interview was striking in that context. You?

Both Trump and Biden have more than proved they are incompetent Presidents. Both the republicans and the democrats have proven beyond a shadow of a doubt they are incompetent political parties.
Jill gets my support until she proves to me that she can't do the job either.
I'm tired of being told I should keep supporting parties that lie and cheat to stay in power.
I'll take the road less traveled for now.
Perhaps others will join me...
...perhaps not.
Sometimes making the right call is more important to spiritual growth than following the lemmings over the cliff.

...if the democrats had been "honest enough" to pick a qualified and competent world leader for President, Trump wouldn't be such a threat. Instead they stayed with a proven loser.
Word is floating around today that your former Congress woman, Tulsi Gabbard turned down the vp spot with RFK jr in hopes she will be picked up by Trump for the spot.
Now that really is a "vote" for Trump as well as perhaps a shot at the White House in a couple years when Trump steps down.
What this suggests to me is that a lot of really smart democrats just let themselves get blindsided by making poor decisions when they actually knew better but went along with Biden anyway.
Interesting that Tulsi and Hawaii just became a major wild card in this election.
Didn't I sort of predict this a year or two ago?

Tulsi? Yeah, she's fun. Although in all seriousness I doubt she brings enough to the party nationally. But you never know. I would think he'd go after someone that brings a larger following, Tucker? But then, Tucker is too popular, Trump wants a shadow, not a partner.

Trump wants a shadow, not a partner?
I have a different take ao...
I think Trump wants to be remembered in a more positive light than he lets on. Picking someone as bright as Tulsi and mentoring them for a future presidential tenure could enable him to "quit winners"...
She goes on to be a great President and "he" gets credit for recognizing and rewarding her talent... a strategy he used on The Apprentice successfully all the time.
Democrats get remembered for forcing Tulsi out of their party.
Life can be full of interesting twists.
Meanwhile we are getting ready at the Zen Garden for predicted late afternoon thunder showers and early feeding for the local critters.
