Would like to visit in a few years when I
go back to Alaska, such beautiful grounds
blended in with the incredible Alaskan
scenery.

I’ve been there. It is a beautiful spot and beautiful stonework. Even
more than the photos and video show.

The church is built out of beach rocks. There are miles and miles and
miles of beach covered with rocks that size that built the church
building. More show at low tides too. There are 30 foot tides there
that expose a lot of beach. Some scattered sand beach too at low
tide.

I spent my high school years living in a beach house some miles
from St. Therese’s. My Dad was adding onto our house and built a
bulkhead the length of the property to keep the winter storm waves
off the lawn and from hitting the windows. Everyday after school our
assignment was to carry up 200 rocks each from the beach, my
brothers and sisters and me. And at low tide, buckets of sand to
make concrete. The rocks filled in behind the 4’ high log bulkead he
built.

That's so awesome you were able to visit,
you can almost feel a special energy about
the place just from the photos. And yes,
photos for sure don't do justice instead
of being there in person. I know it rains
a lot up there but I'm sure you enjoyed
living there, but the beauty of Alaska is
breath taking. But it's also a hard way of
life for many in alaska who have to make a
living, especially if they have to work in
the rain all the time.
