I'm sure he did not smoke, or he would not have made it to 93. I'm not sure if that video is an SNL skit. But it was done quite a while ago. At the beginning he takes a hit, and says " I gonna be high, as a kite by then" like Elton John's song Rocket Man. At least thats what I thought. Cool, thanks. Watching the video- wow. Have enjoyed Rocket Man song by Elton -never saw this video. Brings back some things about the beginnings of the Hebrews-- according to Thiaoouba Prophecy- they came from another planet long time ago- 1 man, two women survive the crash to Earth- they got stuck here... want to know more you can read the book- by Michel Desmarquet. (a true account by him when he was taken to THiaoouba and learned many things from them including much of the beginnings of Earth)I am from the Sephardic line myself. yes, I gathered so too about the smoking scene. |

Interesting. Also interesting about Gene Roddenberry's early to late interests in Science Fiction, and space travelers. Maybe even time travel, as we see cell phones and computers these days, we saw in Star Trek. the flip phone from the communicator for example. |

The performance was Shatner's version of Rocket Man at the Saturn Awards (science fiction film awards) in 1978. Shatner was introduced at the awards by the co-writer of the song Bernie Taupin.
