My expartner/dear friend back in Chicago majored in drama
at ISU along with Gary, his wife Moira Harris and most of
the founding/early members of Steppenwolf Theater...
While Leonard and I were together we hung out with those
folks a lot, the Chicago theater scene was pretty amazing
in those days, so I got to know them pretty well.
I'm just sick to hear that Gary & Moira have lost their
son Mac. I remember hearing when he'd arrived in their
lives, like the perfect completion to their love story.
Of course, no one's loss of a child is any more horrific
than another's...it's only that when we know the parents
personally, so having some small sense of the scope of
loss, it can be overwhelming even from a distance...
Gary Sinise is one of the most beautiful souls I've ever
met. The kindness and generosity of his heart has always
been a celebrated quality of his, going way back... He'd
do anything for anyone, give you the shirt off his back,
his last buck. Not even the mild surprise I experienced
when I discovered his politics, in these later years,
could then, or now, alter how I see him in the
slightest... ;) What he does to support veterans and
first responders is just lovely, and Mac joined him in
this endeavor so much...
May Gary & dear Moira be blessed and comforted, and may
McCanna Sinise, his music, his dreams, his love, Shine On
within their lives...

oh my, thank you for sharing that with us, your personal connection to the family brings a sense of real sadness of what they have had to go through. one of my best friends son has been a quad for 13 years and my heart hurts right along with his mother, watching him in such pain and not being able to help him, trying everything they can do, to very little success, to ease his pain and seeing what it has done to the whole family teaches one that such traumas can happen to anyone, and to take nothing for granted in life, to cherish your loved ones every day,and let them know they are valued and loved...prayers for all of them and for you dear one, hugs, kay

Thank you, kay, and I'm sorry to hear about your dear
friend's son... He'll be in my thoughts and prayers as
well... And I couldn't agree more about holding our dear
ones close, and staying very present with what a miracle
each of them are, and how profoundly we're blessed by their
presence in our lives!

Thank you so much for that, Red, totally spazzed asking
them of anyone feeling to offer... Prayers that Moira
continues to be cancer free would be wonderful as well,
she was diagnosed only two months prior to Mac's cancer
diagnosis...
Warm thanks in advance to everyone feeling to offer
positive/healing/comforting thoughts and prayers for this
dear family...
