Singer, civil rights leader and devoted activist Harry
Belafonte has died at 96. Belafonte was a “real one,”
as evidenced by a 2005 event where he spoke eloquently
about his friendship with Martin Luther King jr. and
the fear that Democrats would coopt the language of the
civil rights movement while abandoning the cause itself
— and who was right there with him on stage but Hillary
Clinton and Barack Obama.

Yeah, gotta get that twist in there...too bad it doesn't
hold the water it seems to...
So many claim to stand for excavating & revealing the
core causal truths of our current global corporatocracy
and its tentacles/influence/control; so many are missing
its bottom-line/biggest-picture contexts, and their
implications, like the side of a barn...
I still can't decide if it's lack of imaginative scope,
chosen ignorance...or simple, base human fear operating
unconsciously to substantiate those stances --
even within those identifying as passionate, intelligent
and uncompromising truthseekers -- cleverly blinkering
what so many cannot bear to contemplate as possible, even
conceptually...
No matter! The victory of that which will overcome
everything that works against Freedom, Equality and Civil
Rights for All, everywhere that energy works its evil
from the "top" on down -- within cleverest guises as well
as boldly & overtly -- is nearly at hand... ;)

my reply, I sure hope so and folks need to stop with
the left/right thingy. Its only those who can rise above
that, that will win the prize.

Pamela, if you're willing to respond to this, maybe it
should be taken to another board...but I have a key
question: Can you tell me more precisely what you
personally feel "stopping with the left-right thingy, and
rising above it" entails? Like, very specifically? In
thought as well as action? I'd really appreciate knowing
exactly what you mean by that phrase. Thanks in advance!
