"You let them put the fear in you Not a word you heard was true"
"But if there's nothing you can say There may be nothing you can do"
"Do you want to be a free man Or do you want to be a slave"
"Do you want to wear these chains Until you're lying in the grave?"
"Magna Carta, Bill of Rights The Constitution, What's it worth?"
"You know they're going to grind us down Until it really hurts"
"Is this a sovereign nation, or just a police state You better look out people before it gets too late"
Like the songs from the beginning of time, the words from this song tell also a story.
It is a story of warning. It just as easily could have been written in the 1930s and early 1940s by song writers who spoke German, Polish, French, Dutch, Austro-Bavarian, Hungarian, Slavic, or Yiddish.

His song "Simple Song of Freedom" could be an anthem today of Steve Pieczenik, a man who, believe it or not, is a fan of Alex Jones. Pieczenik was just on Jones' Saturday (June 19) show and is available for hearing on the Alex Jones podcast.
Like Darrin, Pieczenik is tired of war, wars which Darin wrote and sung "presidents, prime ministers, and kings" like to make, but never themselves have to fight in, unnecessary wars that Pieczenik said get "his" people killed (speaking as though those soldiers are his own sons and daughters).
Like what is happening in today's MSM, Darin wrote of the press then,
"700 million are you listening?
Most of what you read is made of lies."
The song's refrain:
"We the people here don't want a war"
Hearing Bobby Darin sing that song "Live at the Desert Inn" is like listening to an angel singing.
