Sword's Book is an inter-lineal word-for-word "ethnopoetic" translation of the Lakota narratives of George Sword into English.

If you are familiar with the book "Black Elk Speaks," this book is similar in content to the stories Black Elk told about wa-kin-yan, Thunder Being and ah-khi-chi-ta, the messengers sent from it. And that just covers the first two sections. The final narratives that tell of the Sun Dance consists of three-hundred and nine stanzas.
The words of George Sword are unique in the history of the Lakota. He adapted the alphabet we use to his needs and wrote these narratives so that his people would have them.
Delphine Red Shirt, a Lakota speaker, brought them back to life in her on-line open-source thesis and I followed her lead to provide the translation in an inter-lineal style so a non-speaker can follow the meaning of the text.
Lacking an interested publisher, Sword's Book is free of charge. Recipients are encouraged to distribute copies as they see fit.
In addition, Sword's Words is now in the final preparation stage and might be available sometime next year. Finishing touches are being applied to the all-important first page of the text with examples of the four operative a-prefixes: the attributive, the objective, the locative, and the causative where the a-prefix functions as a modifier.
A pdf file of this first page will also be available when completed.

I could see out through the opening and there two men were coming from the clouds, headfirst like arrows slanting down […] They came clear down to the ground this time and stood a little way off and looked at me and said, “Hurry!
