Hi Eve...A friend of mine used to be part of the
road crew with The Killers years ago... I posted
a song here a couple days ago ..Its down the
board a bit...Carmanah is the artist,you might
like it ,Give it a try ,let me know...There is
something in her voice that resonates with me but
its a good song (in my opinion)and the video was
shot locally in B.C.familiar nature in my part of
ythe world...

okay,
thanks David .

I found the song "The Man" when I was watching the clip pamela
shared earlier about a movie coming out.... I more or less shared
it to examine as a reflection of the times.

The Killers have one song that I like but its
not that one ..I just cant recall the name of it
at the moment..But yes it "The Man"does reflect
alot of the perceptions of false masculinity and
arrogance..Could probably throw the laws of
attraction in there as well...The song by
Carmanah is a little deeper though..I read an
interview with the singer Laura Mina who said the
context of the video itself is about overcoming
loneliness by connecting with friends and loved
ones but I also percieve that the lyrics have to
do with collecting small offences (dust and sand)
and allowing them to be accumulate as a
weapon(judgemental stone)to damage a relationship
but allowing forgivness (by throwing them into
the sea) to restore the relationship...I dont
mean to be getting all "deep"on you here but I
like music that has substance and emotion in
it...Fuels my analytical thinking and Im pretty
bored at the moment so....

Hey Pamela..Well after searching around to find
the killers song I mentioned it turns out that
the song is actually "Starlight" by The Muse but
the killers did a cover version of it
live..Pretty good version but I prefer the
original by The Muse myself..Good song

Yes, I agree with your comments on "The Man" song.

I just viewed/listened to the song you shared on down. I like it
much, the melody and the words and her voice also. I don't mind
deep, I am comfortable in that mode most all the time....That is
interesting about that song and what it means to the writer...I
thought that the roots symbology was significant...the tree
symbology...seeking the peace of a forrest, tranquility...no more
to roam, found home.

Ah ,excellent observation regarding the "roots"
Eve...Added more meaning to the song for me...I
listen to lots of different music, like a variety
of stuff, but there is a small handfull of songs
that really seem to stick with me..Ranges from
light and soft like this song to some really dark
and heavy stuff.....I guess everybody is likely
the same as far as how music and lyrics touch
different emotions and memories...
