Many here have related their dreams of Earth changes/weather thru the years and some have posted the replies related to Norse mythology. Matteo and Thoth. & RIG, a big fan of this to be sure. :) Off the top of my head I know there were two of us dreaming of snow/weather/fur coats and the like; Marja, and myself-I'm sure there were others. But of mine and some of Marja's it became a repeating theme.

So I thought to post this for those interested in the actual runes found and deciphered.

Abstract [en]
The Rök runestone from central middle Sweden, dated to around 800 CE, is famous, among other things, for a supposed reference to the emperor Theodoric the Great. This study proposes instead that the inscription deals with an anxiety triggered by a son’s death and the fear of a new climate crisis similar to the catastrophic one after 536 CE. Combining perspectives and findings from semiotics, philology, archaeology, and history of religion, the study presents a completely new interpretation which follows a unified theme, showing how the monument can be understood in the socio-cultural and religious context of early Viking Age Scandinavia. The inscription consists, according to the proposed interpretation, of nine enigmatic questions. Five of the questions concern the sun, and four of them, it is argued, ask about issues related to the god Odin. A central finding is that there are relevant parallels to the inscription in early Scandinavian poetry, especially in the Eddic poem Vafţrúđnismál.

Chilling 1200-year-old Viking Stone warns of future Little Ice Ages
January 18, 2020 Cap Allon
A secret code unsolved for 1200 years has finally been cracked — the mysterious inscription on famed Viking relic the Rök stone (or Rökstenen) reveals the warrior nation feared the return of the deadly ‘Late Antique Little Ice Age’ which wiped out more than HALF of Scandinavia — the stone speaks of an enduring battle against extreme cold weather in the sixth century.

According to a study led by Per Holmberg, a professor of Swedish language at the University of Gothenburg, the text is telling a tale of light and darkness, warmth and cold, and it expresses a deep fear of a coming climate disaster.
“The main theme is apparently the Sun, or the rhythm of light”, Holmberg explained.

Of the nine riddles contained on the stone, five of them have the answer “the Sun.”

Experts have long been stumped by the writing on the 8.5ft tall stone, with most theories claiming it is a dedication to the legendary Ostrogoth king, Theodore the Great but now it is thought it alludes to fears of a repeat of the deadly Late Antique Little Ice Age.

According to new archaeological research, roughly 300 years before Rökstenen was erected, the world was struck by a climate catastrophe which saw global average temperatures plunge significantly. Scandinavia was one of the regions worst impacted by this shift, with crop failure, starvation, and mass death ripping through Northern Europe–more than 50% of the population was lost, along with many species.
Furthermore, a string of violent volcanic eruptions darkened the skies with ash at this time, adding to the cooling, and further amplifying the crop failure, famine, and wars.

“Before the Rök stone was erected, several ominous events occurred,” explained Bo Gräslund, a professor of archeology at Uppsala University. “A strong solar storm painted the sky in dramatic red colors, the harvests were hit by an extremely cold summer, and later a solar eclipse occurred just after the sunrise. It could have been enough of one of these events to trigger concerns about a new Fimbulwinter.”

This diagram of the runestone shows the individual elements of the encrypted text.(see article with diagrams/pics)

Why the runes were so deeply encrypted is anyone’s guess.
Perhaps whoever had the Rökstenen engraved didn’t want just anyone to read it.
It was a message of terror, after all.
It was a reminder of a cataclysmic past.
It was a warning of the terrible power of the Sun.
Per Holmberg and his team claim to have uncovered an ominous prophecy. The stone speaks of a “battle enduring for centuries,” but not a fight with man, but one with nature. For a full read of the researchers’ recently published study, click here.
(( I just posted the study with the pdf at top of thread))

We at Electroverse are also forewarning of the terrible power of the Sun, and that these prophesied cold times are returning in earnest, in line with the historically low solar activity currently being experienced.
Even NASA agrees, in part at least, with their recent forecast revealing this next solar cycle (25) will be “the weakest of the past 200 years,” with the agency correlating previous solar shutdowns to prolonged periods of global cooling here.

A secret code that remained unsolved for 1200 years has
finally been cracked – and it reveals a dark prophecy
that is already coming true.

This 1200-year-old Viking runestone carries a warning.

It's a monument to a son, fallen in battle. But its
coded text tells of a terrible threat to come.

It's a 2.5m high, five-ton granite slab, deeply
inscribed with Viking runes.

For centuries, the monolith lay hidden as a loadstone
in a Swedish Östergötland countryside church wall. But,
in 1862, renovation workers discovered it had
inscriptions on five sides.

Now known as the Rök Runestone (Rökstenen), it turned
out to be the oldest of its type.
Also the longest.

Historians have been puzzling over the meaning of its
725 Norse characters ever since.

We know it was a eulogy, erected by a grieving Viking
father. Did it also boast of his son's heroic lineage?
Was it a record of great battles?

Yes. And no.

The stone enigmatically talks of conflict "between
light and darkness, warmth and cold, life and death."

But its runes aren't ordinary. They are encrypted,
making the words seem disjointed and out-of-place.

Whoever had the Rökstenen engraved didn't want just
anyone to read it.

It was a message of terror.

It was a reminder of a cataclysmic past.

It was a warning of the terrible power of climate
change.

SIGNS AND PORTENTS

A diverse research team led by Professor Per Holmberg
at the University of Gothenburg has attempted to crack
a series of nine riddles listed on the stone.

In the process, they claim to have uncovered what may
be an ominous prophecy.

Their findings have been published the science journal
Futharc: International Journal of Runic Studies.

Like other attempts to solve the Rökstenen code, they
had a few clues to start with.

A Viking named Varin raised the stone in honour of his
son, Vamoth, at some time around 800AD. This was in the
depths of Europe's Dark Age. And Varin feared things
were going to get much darker.

Let's say this, who, nine generations ago, lost life to
the East but still reigns?

The bold warrior, the men's chief, rode on the horse
across the horizon to the east.

Now sits, the foremost of the famous, equipped on his
horse with the shield prepared.

This refers to Theodoric the Great, a ruler of the
Ostrogoth tribe who took advantage of the collapsing
Roman empire to establish himself as emperor of the
West. He died in AD526, about 300 years before the
Rökstenen was raised.

Why was Theodoric mentioned at all? Why refer to a
death nine generations (300 years) earlier?

The researchers believe Dark Age Europe regarded
Theoderic's reign as an omen of the immense calamity
that followed his death: A spate of volcanic eruptions
covered Europe in darkness for several years. There
were terrible storms. Crops failed. Disease spread.

A secret code that remained unsolved for 1200 years has
finally been cracked. Photo / Supplied

AD536 became known as "the worst year to be alive" as
the ash cloud accelerated the demise of the Roman
Empire.

Recent studies have found Scandinavia suffered
particularly grievously at this time: up to 50 per cent
of the region's population starved or fled. And the
tribulations of this era – the trigger of Europe's Dark
Age – were burnt into Viking lore that lingered for
generations.

RAGNAROK RISES

Varin had cause for concern. He had witnessed three
dramatic events - all of which were harbingers of doom.

"Before the Rök Runestone was erected, a number of
events occurred which must have seemed extremely
ominous," says study author Bo Gräslund.

"A powerful solar storm coloured the sky in dramatic
shades of red, crop yields suffered from an extremely
cold summer and later, a solar eclipse occurred just
after sunrise. Even one of these events would have been
enough to raise fears of another Fimbulwinter."

Eclipses and extreme winters featured prominently in
Norse mythology: in particular, they were part of the
tale of Ragnarök – a cataclysmic battle of the gods
prophesied to bring about the end of the world.

Ragnarök told of the giant wolf Fenrir swallowing the
Sun. In the process, the sky turned blood-red and
sunlight "black" – and humanity fought a valiant last
stand for survival.

Varin, it seems, linked his son's death to the signs he
had seen in the sky.

"The inscription deals with anxiety triggered by a
son's death and the fear of a new climate crisis
similar to the catastrophic one after AD536," the
study's authors write.

Varin was anxious about his position in Viking society.
Chiefs were believed to be the spiritual guardians of
good harvests.

"They were the leaders of the cult that held together
the fragile balance between light and darkness. And
finally, at Ragnarök, they would fight alongside Odin
in the final battle for the light," says history
professor and study co-author Olof Sundqvist.

WRIT IN STONE

Nine riddles form the core of the Rök Runestone
inscription. Seven have answers.

Mostly, the riddles appear to reference battles. But
they aren't the usual Viking boasts about heroic deeds.

Let us say this as a memory for Odin, which spoils of
war there were two, which twelve times were taken as
spoils of war, both from one to another?

The answer reads: "The Sun and Moon".

The Sun is also the answer to four of the other
riddles. The remaining four talk of the Old Norse God
Odin and his band of warriors.

The study finds several aspects of these enigmatic
inscriptions have parallels with other Old Norse texts.
Not the famous tales of heroes and kings. But, rather,
texts that grapple with the big questions of existence
and the will of the gods.

These were often riddles.

The researchers say they now believe the Rök stone
runes refer to a titanic struggle with the weather.

Battle was how Varin related to his worst nightmare.
And the signs in the sky were scarily similar to those
in the terrible tales he had heard as a child.

If the Sun lost its power, so would the Viking elite.

"It is suggested that particular riddles for the
inscription are linked to contemporary phenomena (a
solar storm that coloured the sky red, an extremely
cold winter and a solar eclipse) which may have created
concern that the sun would lose its power," the
researchers conclude.

Viking chief Varin feared the return of the climate
cataclysm that had wrought so much havoc just 300 years
earlier.

So he set his warning in stone.

AN ANCIENT CHALLENGE

The Rök Runestone enigma remains unsolved. This is just
the latest of several attempted interpretations.

Previous readings place it as a tribute to ancient
heroes and battles. But exactly which ones – if any –
remains uncertain.

So the freshly revealed parallels with Norse mystic
poetry certainly open up new realms of possibility.

But, like the mysterious quatrains of Nostradamus, the
inscriptions remain purposefully vague, poetic - and
confusing.

"The enigmatic questions, the intricate cryptograms,
and the labyrinth reading order made the monument a
challenge for a select few, and a potential place for
their enlightenment," the study says.

The Rökstenen's author probably intended to test its
readers. The poetry was specifically written for those
of high status and education. But much of that
knowledge has since been lost, which leaves the text
open to interpretation.

"The key to unlocking the inscription was the
interdisciplinary approach. Without these
collaborations between textual analysis, archaeology,
history of religions and runology, it would have been
impossible to solve the riddles of the Rök runestone,"
Professor Holmberg says.

THE ROKSTENEN RIDDLES

The following is the latest Rök stone text translation,
and the answer to the nine riddles explained with their
textual parallels in Old Norse or Anglo-Saxon poetry.
English translation of the inscription: CC-BY Henrik
Williams, Per Holmberg, Bo Gräslund, Olof Sundqvist

After Vamoth stand these runes. And Varin, the father,
made them after the death-doomed son.

Let us say this as a memory for Odin, which spoils of
war there were two, which twelve times were taken as
spoils of war, both from one to another?

Answer: The Sun and the Moon

Interpretation: Riddle 29 in the Exeter book: The
monthly battle between the sun and the moon over the
lunar light

This let us say as second, who nine generations ago
lost the life in the east but still decides the matter?

Ride the horse did the bold champion, chief of men,
over the eastern horizon. Now he sits armed on his
horse, his shield strapped, foremost of the famous.

Answer: The Sun

Interpretation: Vafthruthnismal 46–47: The wolf kills
the sun after it has given birth to a new sun.
Vafthruthnismal 11–12: The rise of the sun is a ride.
Grimnismal 38: The sun has a shield

Let us say this as a memory for Odin, who because of a
wolf has suffered through a woman's sacrifice?

This let us say as twelfth, where the wolf sees food on
the battlefield, where twenty kings lie?

Answer: On the battlefield of Ragnarok

Interpretation: Vafthruthnismal 17–18: The last
struggle on the battlefield

This let us say as thirteenth, which twenty kings were

brothers? Five Valkis, sons of Rathulf, five
Hraithulfs, sons of Rogulf, five Haisls, sons of
Haruth, five Gunnmunds, sons of Bern.

And for Odin a memory … (partially unreadable)

Answer: The warriors of Odin

Interpretation: Vafthruthnismal 40-41: The warriors of
Odin practice for Ragnarök. Grimnismal 23: The warriors
of Odin meet the wolf. Eiriksmal 7–9: Five kings
accompany King Eirik to the battle against the wolf.

Let us say a memory for Odin, dare!

[Who is] a protector of sanctuaries for a brother?

Answer: The Sun

Interpretation: Vafthruthnismal 22–23: The brother of

Let us say a memory for Odin to the young man, to whom
is born an offspring? It is not a lie.

Answer: Odin

[Who] could beat a giant? It is not a lie.

Answer: Vithar

Interpretation: Vafthruthnismal 52–53: Vithar kills the
wolf. Voluspá 55: Vithar kills the wolf and restores
balance.

Clash!

Of the nine riddles contained on the stone, five of
them have the answer “the Sun.”

Experts have long been stumped by the writing on the
8.5ft tall stone, with most theories claiming it is a
dedication to the legendary Ostrogoth king, Theodore
the Great but now it is thought it alludes to fears of
a repeat of the deadly Late Antique Little Ice Age.

According to new archaeological research, roughly 300
years before Rökstenen was erected, the world was
struck by a climate catastrophe which saw global
average temperatures plunge significantly. Scandinavia
was one of the regions worst impacted by this shift,
with crop failure, starvation, and mass death ripping
through Northern Europe–more than 50% of the population
was lost, along with many species.
Furthermore, a string of violent volcanic eruptions
darkened the skies with ash at this time, adding to the
cooling, and further amplifying the crop failure,
famine, and wars.

“Before the Rök stone was erected, several ominous
events occurred,” explained Bo Gräslund, a professor of
archeology at Uppsala University. “A strong solar storm
painted the sky in dramatic red colors, the harvests
were hit by an extremely cold summer, and later a solar
eclipse occurred just after the sunrise. It could have
been enough of one of these events to trigger concerns
about a new Fimbulwinter.”

This diagram of the runestone shows the individual
elements of the encrypted text.(see article with
diagrams/pics)

Why the runes were so deeply encrypted is anyone’s
guess.
Perhaps whoever had the Rökstenen engraved didn’t want
just anyone to read it.
It was a message of terror, after all.
It was a reminder of a cataclysmic past.
It was a warning of the terrible power of the Sun.
Per Holmberg and his team claim to have uncovered an
ominous prophecy. The stone speaks of a “battle
enduring for centuries,” but not a fight with man, but
one with nature. For a full read of the researchers’
recently published study, click here.

thread))

Wow, I just looked it up and I have a great grandmother who was born in
the late 1600’s in Skonberga about 26 miles from the rune stone. The
family never traveled far from the area. They stayed in Skonberga,
Rogberga and Kulltorp all in the Jonkoping area. I can’t get back further
than this one grandmother.

Wow, I just realized my flash vision from last night of the “7.7
kimovaararussia “ is a place I had never heard of and thought was near
Kamchatka? Well it’s on the Russian /Finnish border in what is considered
the Republic of Karelia. As far as I can tell there has never been an
earthquake there? The history of the area is heartbreaking and something
I was totally ignorant of. Praying . Feel it is tied into my Dalecarlian horse
dream.

URL: ST. KNUT’S DAY: TIME TO TOSS A TREE

Greetings sher ~🦋~ I have some thoughts to share with you on this topic regarding Swedens announcement regarding war.

In reading the article from Newsweek I was reminded of my third dream of Putin with the Swedish model on the sidewalk and it seeming like it was Christmas....Today I was reviewing history and saw that January 13th is the known as
St. Knut's Day or the twentieth day of Christmas when there are festivities and the Christmas tree is thrown out...in tradition which some still follow the tree is tossed out of the window. It is known as the last day of Christmas.
This reminds me of George Michaels WHAM song "Last Christmas" which became for the first time in the UK the number one song.

January 13th on the Gregorian calendar is December 31st on the Julian calendar which is known as Old New Year's Even and January 14th is Old New Years Day...at this time the Julian calendar (ie. Orthodox) with be the first day of
2024:

https://www.holytrinityorthodox.com/calendar/index.php?tzo=-4

This did not come to me until I was just doing a review of history for the day as I usually do. Not just that it was some years ago I remember seeing the name Knut in the news media stories and so took notice of the name Knut in
general and have wondered given the timing of his departure is linked to The Ephipany (baptism of Christ).

From the Orthodox calendar link January 13th Gregorian calendar = December 31st Julian calendar:

Saturday after the Nativity and before the Baptism of Our Lord and God and Saviour Jesus Christ

Anyways sharing links for anyone interested in this here are links to St. Knut's Day and Old Christmas Day plus a copy and paste of my third dream of Putin.

The Orthodox New Year, also known as the Old New Year, according to the Julian calendar is on January 14 in the Gregorian calendar. The Julian calendar pre-dates the Gregorian calendar.

Orthodox New Year - Time and Date

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

-->3. Third Dream of Putin March 3rd. (2019)

A military parade of sorts at night with a thin giant (at least 9 ft. tall at least maybe more) Swedish
female model with white blonde hair in a sharp bob cut with bangs....wearing ochre color long dress of
heavy fabric like canvas that was printed with red leafed wreaths that said RUSSIA in the middle in red
also. This flashed over and over as it was some parade yet this model was on the sidewalk which I guess
was her catwalk and showed up unexpected and took the attention away from the military parade going on
so the focus was on her....The scene was reran as on tape/t.v....not sure many times with ones trying to
figure out what she was all about showing up on a sidewalk beside the parade unexpected and a giant at
that.

The last image of her she had an Egyptian like (sphinx/king tut) shape head dress on of same fabric
except on the top center part above her forehead was a red leaf wreath and it had Putin's face in the
middle of it.

The last part was really odd...it had same one again as friend from Florida and my deceased dad after
the flesh and my stepmom who is alive and it was like Christmas and they brought me gifts ...but not
wrapped and the only thing I recall was a black check book size wallet/purse...(my stepmom was carrying
the gifts and gave them to me). I was wanting to show them this video that kept being rewound of the
parade with the tall model on the sidewalk that kept being replayed over and over ...on youtube I
guess...not sure being it was a dream....but I recall the t.v. was old time cathode ray tube t.v.

Well its another beautiful home as seen by the photos
provided at the link.

And Talesin West belongs to the Unesco World Heritage
https://franklloydwright.org/taliesin-west/
Taliesin West is a UNESCO World Heritage site and
National Historic Landmark nestled in the desert
foothills of the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale,
Arizona.

Wright’s beloved winter home and desert laboratory was
established in 1937 and diligently handcrafted over
many years. Deeply connected to the desert from which
it was forged, Taliesin West possesses an almost
prehistoric grandeur. It was built and maintained
almost entirely by Wright and his apprentices, making
it among the most personal of the architect’s
creations.

Might be a tie in to world/earth changes time line.

will I get to the top!?"...then I came around a bend

and to my left and at a distance, rose even higher,

the top of the mountain, the landscape was a golden

color and the top of the mountain was a dark blue-grey

in color...there was no snow or ice anywhere...I

looked online for a mountain that might look like what

I saw and this Llullaillaco in Argentina looks very

much like it...all I kept thinking, was that I had

taken a car that had bad brakes and how was I to get

back down?...

Yesterday IRL , I was going to an appointment early in the morning
traveling on the same street I was on in this dream. In all the years I’ve
been on this city street I have never encountered horses. But yesterday I
pulled up to the intersection of the streets in my dream where the red and
bay horses were coming from the west and I guided them to the north with
my right hand for protection. At THAT intersection yesterday morning in
an open stock trailer stopped at the signal in front of me ,were a red
gelding and a bay colored mare all saddled up and ready for a ride! The
hair on the back of my neck stood up. It was interesting to say the least.
Then I saw this article from yesterday and I am very very worried.

If nuclear warfare results in horse riding rather than
driving cars, worrying over auto insurance won't be a
problem.

I've been watching a lot of Youtube map simulations of
the Roman-Gaul-Persian battles in which 50,000 men
armies line up against each other and the cavalries
(horses) are usually at the flanks, with missiles
consisting of bow and arrows, spears, catapults and
later cannons.

My main worry is whether there will be a supply chain
for food delivery.

Came across this, sher, hope it's helpful... Dala is
shorter version of Dalearlian, I guess.) Seems kind of a
simplistic explanation of its origins, but didn't see
anything more esoteric on them... This does seem to be
the overall consensus from what I did find... Will keep
an eye to see if you find anything different! ;)

***

It can be found in every Swedish souvenir-shop. One of
the most iconic national symbols of Sweden: The Dalahäst
(Dala horse). It is mostly colored in red, decorated with
kurbits pattern, twisting plants and flowers. I have one
on my desk, right next to my Swedish flag and table-
midsummer pole.

Those sweet little horses usually find their new homes in
shelves of people who either have been to Sweden or know
someone who has.

As a real Swede, you should consider the Dala horse as
one of the most typical Swedish things anyone who has
some kind of connection to Sweden can have in one's Billy
shelf

Origin of the Dala horse

Sweden is full of trees. Many years ago wood-workers from
the Swedish province of Dalarna were having a break from
wood working, sitting on a tree trunk, being bored. They
decided to do something entertaining, (back then they
didn't have a mobile phone and thereby no access to
Facebook or Aftonbladet.se) so they looked around and
since they were not very creative they looked around for
inspiration. What they saw was nothing but wood and
horses, when all the sudden one guy said, let’s make
wooden horses. So they did and took them home to the
children.

Later when the children grew up and had no use for the
horses anymore, they took them to Gamla Stan (old town)
in Stockholm and sold them to Sweden tourists.

The world’s largest Dalahäst is 13 meters high and can be
seen at the junction of Swedish national roads 70/68 in
Avesta. The tree it's made of must have been really huge,
right?!

Why is the Dala horse red

Some say one guy was not too skilled with the knife,
therefore the red color – ouch. But that’s just not
true. It’s because after being taken home from the woods,
the horses were decorated with Dala red, yes, the same
color Swedes use to paint their wooden houses in. There's
a lot of that color in Sweden, so why not using it for
everything?! Although, strangely, I haven't seen a Volvo
in that color yet…

Dala horse as a present
If you, as a new-Swede, ever receive a present from an
old-Swede, chances are high, you might get a Dala horse.
If you already have one you'll probably just get flowers
or a bottle of wine instead.

If you don't own a Dala horse yourself already, consider
giving away one to someone who at some point expressed
that he or she likes Sweden.

Thank you shadow! I’m familiar with the dala horse because I researched
it after the dream. I think it has more to do with the Dalecarlian rebellion.
Why I was give that word specifically? I feel it has to do with nato and the
similarities to the rebellions of the 1700’s . I’m sorry for the confusion and

Excerpt:

"A Dalecarlian horse or Dala horse (/ˌdɑːləˈkɑːrliən/;[1]
Swedish: Dalahäst) is a traditional carved, painted
wooden statue of a horse originating in the Swedish
province of Dalarna (Dalecarlia). In the old days[when?]
the Dalecarlian horse was mostly used as a toy for
children; in modern times it has become a symbol of
Dalarna, as well as of Sweden in general. Several types
of Dalecarlian horses are made, with distinguishing
features common to the locality of the site where they
are produced. One particular style has, however, become
much more common and widespread than others. It is
stoutly carved and painted bright red with details and a
harness in white, green, yellow and blue.

History

The wooden horses are painted in the kurbits style. This
one is from around 1950.

The carving of Dala horses as a livelihood is thought to
have started in the village of Bergkarlĺs [sv] in central
Sweden, though the nearby "horse" villages of Risa [sv],
Vattnäs, and Nusnäs were also centres of horse-making.
The villages were involved in the art of furniture and
clock-making, and it is likely the leftover scraps of
wood were put to use in the production of Dala horses.[2]
Many early Dala horses were not painted at all, but in
the beginning of the 19th century painting them in a
single color, white or red, became common practice. The
decoration of the Dala horse has its roots in furniture
painting and was perfected over the years. According to a
local tale, a wandering painter in the style of kurbits
came across one of these Dala horses in a farm he was
decorating. When asked by one of the children why that
horse was not as beautifully painted as the ones in the
decorations, he painted the Dala horse in the same style.
This tradition was then carried on in order to raise the
market value of the Dala horses.

The earliest references to wooden horses for sale are
from 1623. In the 19th century, Stikĺ Erik Hansson [sv]
from the village Risa in the parish of Mora introduced
the technique of painting with two colours on the same
brush, still used today. In the book "The Wooden Horses
of Sweden," the author mentions that this famous Dala
painter is buried in a small churchyard in Nebraska after
having immigrated to the Midwest in 1887 at the age of
64. He changed his name to Erik Erikson upon coming to
America and is buried at Bega Cemetery in Stanton County
Nebraska, outside of Norfolk.

While there were many horse whittlers in the early
production of Dala horses, there were comparatively few
horse painters. The large number of whittlers and a lack
of distinguishing features makes it difficult to
distinguish between different whittlers. Early painters
very rarely signed their work, but they did have their
own distinct pattern from which it is often possible to
identify who painted a particular horse. In the 1930s
(especially after the World's Expo in Paris 1937 and
World's Fair in New York 1939 in which Dala horses were
shown) mass production of Dala horses started. This marks
the beginning of a new era for the Dala horse,
transitioning from toy to a national symbol and popular
souvenir.

The Dalecarlian horse of today is still a handcrafted
article, made of pine, and its pattern is about 150 years
old. At least nine different people contribute their
skills to create each horse. The distinctive shape of the
horse is due to the usage of flat-plane style carving.

Folklore and popular culture
An apocryphal legend of the Dalecarlian horse is that
they became the national toy in 1716. According to the
legend, soldiers loyal to King Charles XII were quartered
in the Dalecarlian region and carved the toys as gifts
for their hosts.[3]

In the 2003 Norwegian film Kitchen Stories, a small Dala
horse is part of a joke when a character expected a real
horse as a reward.

Geographical differences

Rytter Olof Matsson Dala Horse

A Dala horse painted by Rytter Olof Matsson, Risa, around
1910.

Early production of Dala horses was concentrated to four
villages: Bergkarlĺs, Risa, Vattnäs, and Nusnäs, all in
the parish of Mora. Production is believed to have
started in Bergkarlĺs and later spread to nearby villages
Risa and Vattnäs through kindred. At about the same time
production started independently in Nusnäs, and being
farther away their style was less influenced by those of
the other villages. The individual painters each had
their particular style, and the few who are old enough to
remember first- or second-hand the history can often tell
which village, and in some cases which carver or painter,
turned out a particular horse. The distinguishing
features of many early painters from these villages have
now been documented.[4][5]

Many of the works by the earliest horse makers are no
longer in existence but those that remain are cherished
by their owners and have often been passed down through
generations. These are also coveted by collectors, and
their value has risen markedly over the years.

Today, many of the villages in Dalarna county make Dala
horses with individual styles representing the district
of origin. These horses also have distinctive shapes and
often come in different sizes. Some horses like the
Nusnäs horse are stocky work horses; others are lean and
upright with stately countenance like the Rättvik horse.
Many of these can be seen at a yearly exhibition (since
the year 2000), which is held at Klockargĺrden in
Leksand, Sweden. Currently about forty present carvers
and painters show their Dala horses and put them up for
sale.

Thank you for this reminder. It caused me to read again a bit of the
history and I saw something I had not been aware of before.
Especially regarding the two women and children of my dream.
Christina Nilsdotter Gyllenstierna. She was for a short time in charge
of the children of the royal court? Between the two queens. Funny
that my great, great grandmother from Jonkoping was Christina
Nilsdotter. I know it is a very common name. Again thank you.

The word/name Dalecarlian definitely ties in with this. And it mentions the horse in your dream. His name is Sleipnir.

https://duckduckgo.com/?q=dalecarlian+horse+meaning&atb=v53-3__&ia=web

In the pdf document I posted link to, there are 17 mentions of the horse. He has 8 legs. Have you read the document yet?
Heres a wiki link about the horse too:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleipnir

In chapter 43, Sleipnir's origins are described. Gangleri (described earlier in the book as King Gylfi in disguise) asks High who the horse Sleipnir belongs to and what there is to tell about it. High expresses surprise in Gangleri's lack of knowledge about Sleipnir and its origin. High tells a story set "right at the beginning of the gods' settlement, when the gods established Midgard and built Val-Hall" about an unnamed builder who has offered to build a fortification for the gods in three seasons that will keep out invaders in exchange for the goddess Freyja, the sun, and the moon. After some debate, the gods agree to this, but place a number of restrictions on the builder, including that he must complete the work within three seasons with the help of no man. The builder makes a single request; that he may have help from his stallion Svađilfari, and due to Loki's influence, this is allowed. The stallion Svađilfari performs twice the deeds of strength as the builder, and hauls enormous rocks to the surprise of the gods. The builder, with Svađilfari, makes fast progress on the wall, and three days before the deadline of summer, the builder was nearly at the entrance to the fortification. The gods convene, and figured out who was responsible, resulting in a unanimous agreement that, along with most trouble, Loki was to blame.[9]
The gods declare that Loki would deserve a horrible death if he could not find a scheme that would cause the builder to forfeit his payment, and threatened to attack him. Loki, afraid, swore oaths that he would devise a scheme to cause the builder to forfeit the payment, whatever it would cost himself. That night, the builder drove out to fetch stone with his stallion Svađilfari, and out from a wood ran a mare. The mare neighed at Svađilfari, and "realizing what kind of horse it was," Svađilfari became frantic, neighed, tore apart his tackle, and ran towards the mare. The mare ran to the wood, Svađilfari followed, and the builder chased after. The two horses ran around all night, causing the building work to be held up for the night, and the previous momentum of building work that the builder had been able to maintain was not continued.[10]
When the Ćsir realize that the builder is a hrimthurs, they disregard their previous oaths with the builder, and call for Thor. Thor arrives, and kills the builder by smashing the builder's skull into shards with the hammer Mjöllnir. However, Loki had "such dealings" with Svađilfari that "somewhat later" Loki gave birth to a grey foal with eight legs; the horse Sleipnir, "the best horse among gods and men."[10]

In chapter 49, High describes the death of the god Baldr. Hermóđr agrees to ride to Hel to offer a ransom for Baldr's return, and so "then Odin's horse Sleipnir was fetched and led forward." Hermóđr mounts Sleipnir and rides away. Hermóđr rides for nine nights in deep, dark valleys where Hermóđr can see nothing. The two arrive at the river Gjöll and then continue to Gjöll bridge, encountering a maiden guarding the bridge named Móđguđr. Some dialogue occurs between Hermóđr and Móđguđr, including that Móđguđr notes that recently there had ridden five battalions of dead men across the bridge that made less sound than he. Sleipnir and Hermóđr continue "downwards and northwards" on the road to Hel, until the two arrive at Hel's gates. Hermóđr dismounts from Sleipnir, tightens Sleipnir's girth, mounts him, and spurs Sleipnir on. Sleipnir "jumped so hard and over the gate that it came nowhere near." Hermóđr rides up to the hall, and dismounts from Sleipnir. After Hermóđr's pleas to Hel to return Baldr are accepted under a condition, Hermóđr and Baldr retrace their path backward and return to Asgard.[11]
In chapter 16 of the book Skáldskaparmál, a kenning given for Loki is "relative of Sleipnir."[12] In chapter 17, a story is provided in which Odin rides Sleipnir into the land of Jötunheimr and arrives at the residence of the jötunn Hrungnir. Hrungnir asks "what sort of person this was" wearing a golden helmet, "riding sky and sea," and says that the stranger "has a marvellously good horse." Odin wagers his head that no horse as good could be found in all of Jötunheimr. Hrungnir admitted that it was a fine horse, yet states that he owns a much longer-paced horse; Gullfaxi. Incensed, Hrungnir leaps atop Gullfaxi, intending to attack Odin for Odin's boasting. Odin gallops hard ahead of Hrungnir, and, in his, fury, Hrungnir finds himself having rushed into the gates of Asgard.[13] In chapter 58, Sleipnir is mentioned among a list of horses in Ţorgrímsţula: "Hrafn and Sleipnir, splendid horses [...]".[14] In addition, Sleipnir occurs twice in kennings for "ship" (once appearing in chapter 25 in a work by the skald
Refr, and "sea-Sleipnir" appearing in chapter 49 in Húsdrápa, a work by the 10th century skald Úlfr Uggason).[15]
Hervarar saga ok Heiđreks[edit]

In Hervarar saga ok Heiđreks, the poem Heiđreks gátur contains a riddle that mentions Sleipnir and Odin:
36. Gestumblindi said:
"Who are the twain
that on ten feet run?
three eyes they have,
but only one tail.
Alright guess now
this riddle, Heithrek!"
Heithrek said:
"Good is thy riddle, Gestumblindi,
and guessed it is:
that is Odin riding on Sleipnir."[16]

Hilda Ellis Davidson says that "the eight-legged horse of Odin is the typical steed of the shaman" and that in the shaman's journeys to the heavens or the underworld, a shaman "is usually represented as riding on some bird or animal." Davidson says that while the creature may vary, the horse is fairly common "in the lands where horses are in general use, and Sleipnir's ability to bear the god through the air is typical of the shaman's steed" and cites an example from a study of shamanism by Mircea Eliade of an eight-legged foal from a story of a Buryat shaman. Davidson says that while attempts have been made to connect Sleipnir with hobby horses and steeds with more than four feet that appear in carnivals and processions, but that "a more fruitful resemblance seems to be on the bier on which a dead man is carried in the funeral procession by four bearers; borne along thus, he may be described as riding on a steed with eight legs." As an example, Davidson cites a funeral dirge from the Gondi people in India as recorded by Verrier Elwin, stating that "it contains references to Bagri Maro, the horse with eight legs, and it is clear from the song that it is the dead man's bier." Davidson says that the song is sung when a distinguished Muria dies, and provides a verse:[23]

much more at link.. so it appears the horse represents the shaman's steed.

Also important in this saga, Odin is mentioned to be part of the lost tribes of Israel. I have Nordic ancestry too- you must too, to have a dream like that.

Thanks for this information. I have been reading today
the documents and poems. I still am trying to
understand the meaning, take your lesson from this
horse. And the two children in the dream learning? I
was only able to trace my "documented" ancestry(direct
maternal line) back to the Kulltorp Jonkoping area of
Sweden, but because of past dreams I know there is a
connection to Dalarna.

If your part Swedish, you're part of the heritage/story/dna!

Lots of reading and studying. How the horse meaning and the two children are related, for you to decipher-- but in the previous info I gave from wiki, it says the horse is the shaman's steed.... given you are being shown this stuff means allot-- the lesson for you is to search it out, all of it, maybe past life or DNA cell memory for you. And how it all relates to current times, for the weather/earth changes and learning that part of your heritage is with the Nordic/Scandinavian people who are also part of the lost tribes.. so very exciting days to be sure. God bless.

Reading your last post about the little ice age
triggered my memory of a flash vision I had while
awake back in 2017. Very, very rare for me. I was
outside at the bbq grilling dinner and then all of a
sudden I was inside "myself" looking out at a white
haze through frozen twisted strands of ash-colored
hair in front of my face. I knew I was dying and my
spirit was slipping away. I knew I was sitting with my
back against a tree and I knew my husband had left me
there to die. I kept waiting for him to return for me.
I stood at my bbq after it vanished with the most
heart-wrenching pain I have ever felt! I also knew it
was in a Scandinavian country.

I don't know why I am just noticing this now but in
the dream of Sweden the "father" in the dream with the
"fishing" hat that looked like a "cowboy" hat? I don't
know why that was an impression in the dream, but he
had taken a pipe and placed it between his teeth in my
dream and I could hear and feel it as the stem hit his
teeth and then he clenched it. This morning, while
researching a bit more on Van Gogh, I found a self-
portrait of himself with the exact same hat a pipe in
his teeth and looking just like the man in my dream.
Why? What would be the connection? I have never seen
this self-portrait before today.

Hi Sher- which portrait at link looks like one in your dream?

If its a cowboy hat- we've had the symbol about that already shown and discussed by Matteo; cowboy/cowgirl symbolizes father/mother of humankind. Also a cigar/cigarette/smoking pipe symbolizes bollides/fire from sky, space rocks, meteors, comets. Its' smokin'. Good thing you recalled those details. :)

Lots of discussion and dreams about that too- I've had them, and MAtteo has replied about them in past discussions. You should look up the name meaning for Van Gogh too.,

Also in the dream, if it has any meaning, there was an
Irish wolfhound that was running with the horses and
it was to be a "companion" to them? Marja had her
white horses dream a few weeks later, in Oct. 2017 and
there were large dogs and a black cougar with that
dream. I had an encounter with a black cougar on our
ranch years ago in California, where I had a white
horse named Music. It was an amazing sight and I never
saw it again. It never harmed my horse, pygmy goats or
cows either.
