I’ve been a long time admirer of yours and I’m truly thankful for the platform
you’ve provided. It’s offered a unique opportunity for growth, no doubt. I
haven’t always agreed with every decision you’ve made, but more often
then not, you’ve made an extraordinary effort to moderate this site fairly with
tremendous patience & a grounded sense of fair play. At the end of the day,
it’s the only reason I’ve hung around as long as I have.
That no longer seems to be happening here. The final straw for me
happened recently on the national board. I was accused by etc of lying
when I mentioned the fact that I had conceded posting something
inaccurate in a recent post. Since she couldn’t find that post, she continued
to raise doubt about my veracity, my credibility. When I presented her with
the actual post proving my claim, she remained dubious. Instead of simply
admitting she'd been mistaken, she doubled down. She continued by
reminding me (for at least the 3rd time ) of an exchange we had several
years ago in which I called her a ‘bitich’. Yes, I was upset by this continual
reminder because I had apologized and expressed my regret about that to
her directly years ago. Instead of interacting honestly & simply admitting a
mistake, this damaged ego chose to point the spotlight back on her own
perceived injury and my previous transgression.
This is a form of bullying. You’ve chosen to condone it.
What do you do? Delete my posts.
Your apparent hatred forJim and rampant deletion of his posts seems to
come from an unbalanced place, especially compared with the tolerance
you have for dan’s trolling. But of course, that’s just an opinion.
Anyway, I wanted to be clear about my deep appreciation for your tireless
commitment and efforts here.
I expect to check in now & then to see if anything’s changed, but for now I’m
moving on.

...the Lady pretty much says it all ryan...
...but you stopped listening a long time ago.
Akira was without a doubt the most credible poster on
EB in recent years during a period most posters were
more concerned with pushing their own rather narrow ego
driven agenda rather than respect the diversity and
tolerance once more common here.
I once managed a community radio station where my
primary goal was to help inspire great broadcasters in
a supportive atmosphere with the hope they would go on
to inspire the same in others.
Maybe it's time you articulated what your goals for
Earth Boppin are before the dream expires before it's
time.

...my personal reason for posting on EB for the past 20
years has been to better understand why others think
like they do and to try to become a better
"communicator" myself, something quite useful as a
broadcaster most of my life including the present.
I fully understand that not everyone is meant to think
exactly as I do and that virtually everyone I encounter
has something to offer my own life if I am patient
enough to look for it.
Without a doubt, you personally have been incredibly
useful to me and like Akira, I appreciate and benefit
from that.
But just because our world is currently on a "crazy"
course, does not mean we need to join it, but rather
learn from it and hopefully become some part of the
eventual solution.
As for wanting my ears scratched, why would that ever
be considered a problem?
Did you know Mark Twain had 37 cats at one time...
...or another?

attacks on etc. Figures!
I saw every interaction between Akira and ect. devolving
into attacks by Akira, including the one Akira is
complaining about.

Generally speaking, Akira is a no nonsense poster that
posts on both sides of issues and lets them speak for
themselves.
Etc is more likely to post from her own perspective and
psychologically devour those that don't agree with her.
As a result it often becomes an "I'm right" you're
wrong proposition where only she can be a "winner"
rather than to seek a "win win" perspective so that
both parties can live to interact another time.
It used to be that by the time you posted on a board
like EB you had the maturity level to respect the
participants enough not to play these games too often.
The board quite frankly has been out of control for
some time now.

I don't think that there are many here that share that
view, Lee.
Whenever, her views were challenged, she launched
personal attacks upon that poster. And she was quite
consistent with that behavior.
She tried to impose her own rules for accuracy when
posting when she didn't necessarily follow them here
self.
With that in mind, she chased me around for months with
the term hypocrite, for supposedly violating those
rules. In addition she maintained a vindictive campaign
to either get me thrown out of here or get me to leave
on my own. Later she teamed up with Jim to try and push
me out.
She called etc. intellectually dishonest, when from my
perspective it was she who was consistently the same.
She tried the same intimidation tactics on etc, Redhart,
and anyone else who questioned her posts.
Oh and she had a tendency to lie about what she posted,
when confronted with past postings.
So you just keep on spinning that Lee. We all know what
you support.

...I'm not sure ryan actually knows what he wants to
happen...
...one thing for sure, you could see Akira's decision
coming from a mile away and the fact he let it happen
without showing some tact is not a good sign.
Posters like Akira are worth their weight in Gold. Not
too many like that out there anymore.

an attempt at it.
But she came back rather quickly.

the huge deficit her absence creates.
You might start by admitting she was a pretty good
poster and developing some of those good qualities into
your own style.
I certainly wish you and the others God speed with
that.
I personally hope she comes back but with the
incredibly toxic atmosphere that has evolved here that
would seem unlikely in the short term.
Would you like her to come back? If so, let her and
the rest of us know.

Well what are you talking about? Have you ever tried
diversity and stimulating dialogue? You should try it,
many people really enjoy stimulating dialogue. Instead
of talking about people and going after sources you
could try making counterpoints. That is the way
dialogue often happens, someone makes a point and then
someone who doesn't agree makes a counterpoint.
I really think you might enjoy that more than lecturing
people about the sources they use. It might also be
more effective to show that a post isn't true than to
just talk about the source.
