Hi Brian, ryan is getting what he wants. He lets some folks run crazy and really all the boards these days are the equivalent of Let It All Hang Out 2.0. No, they 'ALL' aren't LIAHO 2.0. At least not the few that I still bother to read. Save this one. I don't read most of the forums here because they are just full of bile and pestilence. It's all such BS. But rather than get dragged down in the mud and waste my time and everyone else's, bitching and arguing, I just don't. I don't read it. I don't bitch. I just ignore it. I don't even go there. I don't waste my precious life seconds on it. It does nothing for me doing so. Tech Support was one of the few boards that were still quite civil. But not any more. I don't care what side you're on, Jim. Whether you're right or wrong. But one thing I do see is your name cropping up A LOT. Seems every time there's a stinking pile posted on Tech there's a little flag on top with your name on it. Most if it is you doing a lot of bitching and moaning. And you've helped turn Tech Support into a shit hole. Why are you still here, Jim? How many years have you been posting here and getting into fight after fight after fight after fight? What have you accomplished? Who is forcing you to stay here if you think it's so bad? Only your own ego. All I see is you helping contribute to the shit. Funny I should say that because when our paths have crossed in the past, we generally agreed. I saw you as one of the 'good guys.' But you have this habit of really stirring the shit stick, right or wrong. Ryan is right in that regard. Doesn't matter how right you are. Shit is shit. Your tact leaves much to be desired. I have seen you bully people. I don't even read your posts any more. If you're one of the 'good guys', you're doing the rest of us 'good guys' a disservice. Brian PS Yes, I have in the past been vocal about topics and how things are run around here. I butt heads with Bopp on many occasions. But I grew up. What gets discussed on this little anonymous backwater of a forum (no offense, Bopp, I like anonymous backwater) just isn't worth getting my knickers in a twist anymore. I've learned what in life is really important, and the shit posted on most forums here just isn't important. |

Hi Brian, I'm happy you have grown up and found a way to live with the way ryan runs this place. I'm also happy that the boards here that you frequent aren't full of the constant trolling and bullshit that infests most of the boards. I took a nice long break from here but when I came back Earthboppin was even worse than before. In the past ryan had forbid the type of trolling and personal attacks that a few people are allowed to do now. I had naively thought it was the election year fever but people have continued to behave this way. Sure my name is in the middle of a bunch of shit here. It is because I'm willing to stand up and object to things that are wrong whereas most either put up with it or move on. I'm willing to stir the shit as you call it. There is a rather famous quote with many variations, "All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent". And I'm not the silent type, I speak up when I see things that are wrong and I tend to get a bit louder when someone is pissing on my shoes and telling me it is rain which ryan does quite often. Brian I'm at peace with speaking up against ryan's bullshit. I'm sorry it disrupted one of the forums you do frequent, however ryan deletes posts objecting to the bullshit on the boards where it occurs and tells us to post here. Since you are no longer willing to butt heads with ryan over the way he runs things I suggest avoiding the tech board. I doubt this will take too long, ryan won't put up with me calling him on his dishonesty and hypocrisy forever and since he isn't going to change at some point he will boot me. Like rather than tell folks how it is stop and listen... flat out stop with the excuses and listen to what others are tell you. Can you do that? On speaking up... This is a private forum. It belongs to Bopp. It's his to run as he sees fit. It's his right. You can disagree. It's your right. And to speak up is also your right. And you are likely well correct on many of your points. I don't really know since I choose to avoid all the controversial stuff because one of the things I learned is that there does come a point that speaking up does ZERO. So why waste the energy? There are postings on the boards I do visit that I am oft tempted to reply on, but have learned sometimes the better path is to stay silent. Speaking out is not always the answer. There's a quote I've seen in various forms, but this is the one I like... "Knowledge is knowing what to say. Wisdom is knowing when not to say it." I no longer tilt at windmills. Maybe I'll make a point or observation here and there. But I have found that most people aren't going to change their minds. And arguing against them doesn't make them change their minds any faster. I'm sure you're aware of the Dunning-Kruger effect. You do realize that many times trying to convince the types that frequent here that they are wrong is more likely to just reinforce their erroneous beliefs? Lowering yourself to their level doesn't make you better. Or right. If they don't want to listen you think screaming in their ear is going to work? It's taken me over a week to finally decide to speak up. I was trying to just let it go. But no, it's just gotten worse. But this mess triggered the part of me that's gotten tired of other's ruining good things for me. I'm tired of having to deal with the consequences of other people's.... shit. That's when I start to speak up. But hey, it's your right and your energy and time. Enjoy yourself. Just be aware that your actions are having effects beyond what you think, and on people you may not realize. Just like the idiots that park their grocery cart across aisle while they ruminate on what beans to get, oblivious to the fact they are inconveniencing every other shopper innocently trying to walk down the aisle they are ignorantly blocking. And he and his small inner circle do, that is painfully obvious. That doesn't mean everyone else should just be passive and not object to what's going on.
