...what's a poster to do ryan? National,
International, now even Health has become a hotbed for
pullovers, warnings, deletions, moderator insults...
Normally the moderator of a forum sets his "personal"
standards a notch or two above what he or she expects
of the rest.
Instead of encouraging infighting on these boards, why
don't you raise your own standards and give the rest
of us a higher goal to shoot for...
...successful people do it all the time with
outstanding results.

Hi Lee,
Yes, been happening on Health a bunch. Numerous posts
vanishing, other trolling posts from Dan and Redhart and
ao stay. It is crazy. kay posted an article from the New
York Times and Dan responded that it was "More anti vax
scare tactics". A few minutes later he posted an article
from NPR on the exact same piece of research! LOL
So I responded and asked why he thought the New York
Times was using anti vax scare tactics or if he had just
made a mistake. Unsurprising to anyone my post vanished.
along with many others. And the shit from "the few" that
stay?
Crazy times we live in!

I'm surprised you haven't. You troll me and insult me
and lie about me and make my posts disappear for
bullshit so often. It's seems like an obsession which is
kinda bizarre.
Have you ever considered fairness and moderating this
forum based on behavior or are you just too set in your
ways at this point?

...do you honestly believe banning Jim and I would
improve the quality level of EB any ryan?
I'd start by raising your own standards to at least what
you expect of Jim and I see if things don't get better
for all concerned.
It's a lot easier to follow a LEADER than a follower.

i know whenever you take a break from the boards lee the level of toxic noise and off topic posts decreases remarkably...i have not noticed any such difference when i take a break...anecdotal for sure but something to consider...

I seem to remember differently ryan. Last time I took
a break board remained as dysfunctional as ever,
biggest change being some of the "liberals" weren't as
active.
EB has been going downhill for quite some time now and
the responsibility to set a good example for the rest
of us of is ultimately your responsibility.
That's how the grown up world does it.
The ryan and Bopp show doesn't cut it in the real
world.
Someone has to step to the head of the class...
...the rest of us take our cues from you.
If you really think I'm the main problem here, just ask
me to politely back off and I will. No need to ban or
delete me, I'll be a good soldier and move on.

With great power comes great responsibility. This is
your place, you make the rules, you enforce the rules
any way you want. People follow your lead in how to
behave and lately we see some people behaving badly with
no consequences, including you.
I was talking to a young father recently. He also was
explaining how he never signed up to be a role model. He
seemed like a sharp young man, I'm sure he'll figure it
out.

I was in such a situation some 44 years ago in a land
very far away...
...where I discovered a roomful of future chefs was a
great thing as long as "one" was willing to act as a
super chef and facilitate the careers and aspirations
of all the potentially "great" chefs in the room with
him.
It means being willing to let others take the
"spotlight" while making sure they are all more than
adequately fed, educated and appreciated regardless of
skill or inclination.
It's one of the most fulfilling experiences one can
have on the earth plane.
And it works.

20 years as moderator and paying the bills probably
qualifies you for the position ryan.
I'm pretty sure you are the most qualified if you are
